Celtics: Pat Connaughton

Bucks: Dennis Schroder, Enes Freedom, Celtics 2nd round pick

—————————

This trade would satisfies Wyc’s mandate to get under the luxury tax. Gets us Connaughton, a great team chemistry guy that has become a very proficient shooter, solid rebounder and team defender.

The Bucks get the bench scoring they sorely need (Schroder), Kanter adds another dimension to their front court and they can replace Connaughton’s minutes with a DiVincenzo trade.

I like how you found a way to make Freedom an asset.

But Connaughton has a player option. Isn't he likely to go on the market and search for a bigger contract?

Getting Connaughton would have a nice homecoming feel to it. That would be a nice trade!

I like what you put together here as I think both teams are better because of the trade.

But it is just so rare for two perennial inter-conference playoff teams to make an in season trade like this. So this leads me to believe this trade is very unlikely. Unfortunately…

I was thinking another similar homecoming type trade for salary reasons. Georges Niang as the target… but the same comment I made applies.

Javonte G would also be a nice homecoming that would get us under the tax. Obviously Pat is a much more valuable asset, just saying...
