  • Let's Go Celtics!
Apologies if this idea has been posted, I couldn't find the search feature.

Boston receives: Harrison Barnes, Alex Len

Sacramento receives: Al Horford, 2022 1st Round pick

Why for Boston?
We get a guy who can shoot (41% from 3 this year, 38% for his career), is a switchable defender, and a reportedly a great locker room guy. He has 1 year left on after this one at $18.3m. This deal would also get us under the tax since we'd be shedding about $3m in salary. Alex Len is a throw who could give us spot minutes at center.

Why for Sacramento?
It's been rumored that they are finally ready to move some of their players like Harrison and Hield. I'm not sure what the market value for Harrison is, but I think a 1st is a solid return. They can waive Horford and save about $7m when it's all said and done.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

I'd rather package multiple picks together and a superior player - a star player - than go after a solid starter like H.Barnes.

But ... if that is not available, I like this deal. I'd rather get Barnes here than keep that 1st round pick. Barnes is more valuable.

That's a pretty good trade. I think it improves the Celtics. It doesn't do much to improve the Kings but what do I care!

I like it.

If we can't go all out and get a bigger name like a Beal, Randle, Harden (doubtful), etc., I'd love this deal. Barnes seems to be a really good fit with us.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

Feel a little lite for Barnes but who knows with the Kings?

I’d say maybe AL, Langford , 22 1st.  For Barnes and Len

The key is following up with a trade for a legit backup for Rob. Theis or Noel would be good fits with the teams switching scheme.

Maybe
Richardson to Utah
Ingles and Utah 2nd to Rockets
Theis to Celtics

Cs 8 man rotation would be

Smart
Brown
Tatum
Barnes
Rob

Schroeder
Grant
Theis

Feels like a balanced lineup for playoffs
Mavs
Wiz
Hornet

Not familiar with Barnes contract but on paper, nabbing a 1st for an expiring contract seems solid value for the Kings, especially for a guy you’re not going to resign.

I assume though that the Kings value Barnes’ leadership? So he might be worth more to the franchise than we think. If they don’t tho, this is a trade that brings C’s some incremental improvement. I hope C’s continue to search for a PG or look to change their pace because going small and staying slow sounds like a recipe for disaster.
