I voted yes and I can not understand why any of you wouldn’t.
Ben Simmons was a 3x all star and won roty in 4 seasons.
Yes he had issues with shooting but this is a guy who averaged 16/8/8 and noticeably changed the game in all facets.
When you say "issues with shooting" -- do you mean like when he passed out of a dunk in the 4th Q of a tight playoff game because he was nervous he might... ya know.... miss it? Like those kinda issues?
And then Enbiid was a meany pants to him and he didn't like it so he took his $38MM ball and went home for a year

The 76ers did not lose that series because Simmons passed on a dunk. How does a #1 seed go 1-3 at home in a playoff series, including losing games 1 and 7 on their home court? Embiid and Doc made it seem like the season ended because Simmons passed on that one dunk. They took no accountability for losing that series themselves, but found a scapegoat.
I’m so tired of people who assume the common media infused propaganda of a situation represented wrongfully. Ben Simmons didn’t pass up a dunk. He spun away from a defender (Gallo) and into another player who in the blink of an eye was a defender he clearly could’ve dunked on (Trey). He dished to a driving player (Thybulle) who he thought had a clear path to a layup which he did but Gallo weak side defended him and ended up fouling Thybulle. I never saw this as bad as the media saw it.

But still his shooting is deficient. I do agree that this is the area of his game that needs improvement.
But if you have a re-draft right now I bet more than 50% of the league drafts Simmons before Jaylen.
I would take that bet.
Simmons isn't all that different than the player he was when he turned pro. He won't shoot outside 5 feet. His free throw shooting is so bad he can't be played late in close games for fear of a Hack-a-Ben strategy being used. He is mentally weak.
Jaylen can score on all three levels and is a top 10-15 scorer in the league. He is a plus defender 1-4. He is a more than plus rebounder for a SG. And he shows up big time in the playoffs. He is also on a bargain contract.
Since you are talking re-draft, throw out all the accolades for both and ask based on their current game, current makeup, their development arc and contract, who would you take first in a re-draft, and I would bet over 80% of the league takes Brown. Maybe higher. Maybe pretty easily higher.
And I also bet Simmons wouldn't even be the #2 guy selected. Cases can be made Sabonis, Siakam, and Murray should be taken before Simmons.
Simmons is a very flawed player that has to be used in a certain way, in certain systems to maximize his use, otherwise he will hurt the team in certain, very important situations.
The shine of his unique skills that garnered him All-Star selections is gone. The players I mentioned are probably players teams would want on their team before Simmons. His game, his makeup, his mental toughness and his value have been exposed. GMs simply are not lining up to trade for him given his availability.
If Brown was made as available in a trade as Simmons currently is, there would be a huge bidding war that Brad could take advantage of. That ain't happening in Philly.
