I know Beal and Tatum are like brothers, but it doesn't appear that he is interested in leaving the Wiz, even to play with Jason.  Anyway here are some quotes from a Beal interview with Wojnarowski’s “The Woj Pod” on ESPN.  Beal knows the Wizards need to improve to be competitive long-term, but he likes being the centerpiece of the franchise.  How would that play out with the Cs centerpiece named Jason?

“Honestly, realizing that a franchise is willing to build around you. It’s not always like that everywhere. Like, if I go somewhere else, they’re just not going to build around you. They’ll build around what they have,” Beal said. “There’s nothing absolutely nothing wrong with that, but if I have the chance to create my own legacy and make it work here with the team that drafted me, then why not give it a shot? It it works, it works, If it doesn’t, I can say ‘At least I tried.’ That’s just who I am. That’s my blessing and curse, my loyalty. We’re transitioning, we’re going in the right direction, but we still have a lot of improvements to make.”

I respect that.

I also don't think he would be a great fit with the two Jays and Rob.

Beal is a loser who likes losing.

I wouldn't categorize it like that.  It's more "Beal's top priority isn't winning titles".

I don't think he likes losing, but he clearly wants to be the focus of the franchise.

Yeah , passing first is not in his agenda .   Takes a special mindset ,  to the I’m all in winning ,  get my teammates into their best zones .   So few CP3 guards .

Eh, I'm not mad at him for enjoying being the star for the Wizards.  Honestly I'd rather see more players take that approach - whatever their reason - than to see all of the great players try to cluster on three or four teams.  I think the league is more interesting when the talent is spread out.

Selfishly, I enjoy when every team - even the cellar-dwellers - have somebody who is fun to watch.  It's the biggest reason I like the NBA over college basketball.  Even bottom-feeders like the Magic and Pistons have interesting players like Franz Wagner and Cade Cunningham.  So if Beal wants to keep Washington watchable for a few years, more power to him.  Suits me just fine.

Is Lillard a loser?  Was KG a loser because he wanted to win in Minnesota?

Beals scoring is way down over the last two seasons and his 3pt shot is at 30.1%. I definitely wouldn’t trade him for JB and if the C’s were able to acquire him without giving up Brown; I’m not sure he fits with the J’s.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

I have no problem with Beal showing loyalty to the franchise that drafted him and tried to build around him as the centerpiece, even if it hasn't necessarily been as successful as either would want.  I hope he continues to mentor Tatum and that mindset rubs off on him.

I applaud Beal.. he wants to win there & likes it there..showing his loyalty to Washington..he could move on like James, to form a super team but he not..they got a decent team with Kuzman, Harrell, Bryant, etc..just need another good player or draft
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

I've never thought that Beal would be the right 3rd star for the Cs.  No question he is a great scorer and he appears to be a nice guy.  That said, the Cs need a pass first pg to work with the Jays, not another player similar to the Jays.  He is going to cost a substantial amount of money and I hope the Cs are focusing on a different approach.  Keep the Jays together and build around them with a pg and pf to meet their needs.

In other words, bring me Jayson Tatum to the Wizards not the other way around.

Family, how an organization treats you, fan's love and the pay is 80% of why you want to play somewhere. Winning isn't everything. Only one team wins a year so guys have to do what feels right. I'm pretty sure he wants to win there just like KG tried to stay in Minnesota.
