Tatum 0/20 from 3.  Not a good look.

It amazes me how players have no clue how to miss free throws, in end of game situations. Just hit the back of the rim. It's not hard to do or practice.

Yes it is.

I can't help but think that this is not the right lineup.  I love Timelord but we need Al in there and get the [dang] ball to the middle of the floor.  If it's not Al, then get Tatum there.  Do something to get the zone defense off balance.

Grant Williams did nice work breaking the zone as a small-ball center in his rookie year.

Guaranteed that was not the play drawn up.

What was it?

Looked like a simple PnR with Timelord.  Not much else.

I think that's because the initial play broke down the moment JB and TL didn't screen JT's defender off him on the inbounds, and he immediately had to improvise because he had a defender all up in his grill

Yep, this ^^

The camera angle was in tight  so it was hard to see the rest of the floor but Tatum had a guy on him. Nurkic doubled off of TL (who was out at the 3 point line lol). And Tatum attacked the double

I don’t like that it was a 3, but to Tatum’s credit, he pulled the ol’ Michael Jordan push off. He created a lot of space on that shot. But given the time and circumstance, it was still a poor shot imo. Why stepback for a 3? Why not take another dribble and push off then for a mid range J?

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Wasn’t the only issue, but I think he rode Romeo too long. Would’ve liked to Josh Richardson back in around 5 minutes left. Romeo started looking tight and JR creates better.

Huh? How did we lose that? I was looking at the scoreboard and went away for 10 minutes and everything changed.

1) Inability to execute against a zone defense
2) Ineffectual lineup that contributed to #1
3) Lack of substitution to address #1
4) Inability to secure key defensive rebound
5) Boneheaded defensive errors

There's more but that's the gist of it

offense started going in the toilet when they started running it through Tatum in the fourth.  walked the ball up, bad passes and bad shots.

This is simply not true. The team also built that lead in the fourth because the team was running it through Tatum

The offense stagnated once Pritchard sat for Brown.

Agree. JB had some forced jumpers out there, specially when the blazers were creeping in. The missed D on Covington is just the cherry on top. People blame JT but this loss is equally on JB.

Grant, Romeo, and Payton all played good games off the bench.

I don't mind dumping Dennis. He plays hard and ignites the offense but it'd be good to give JR and Romeo more minutes, and they can be more consistent.

Same.  We were up 11; I went to put my kids to bed, and saw we lost.
