The US cares so much that we are perfectly fine sending our athletes to China for the Olympics next month.  The US cares so much that it consistently and continually buys materials and goods from China at ease and at will.  I'm willing to bet that the people questioning him on the podcast had several items from China on their person or in the producing of the podcast.  He was definitely a bit harsh in his directness, but he wasn't wrong.  People generally just do not care about that issue or they'd do something about it.

This topic is starting to turn into a bad rash that just won’t go away for the NBA.

Im hoping it keeps coming back up and people keep making idiotic statements like this bc eventually the NBA might have to address it.

Our entire world is searching for a conscience. World leaders are greedy power-mongers who care about themselves first, last and always. The full-contact sport of politics is what's wrong with this world not Billionaires.

Where do you think politicians get their power from?

This guy is one of the things that is wrong with the world.  He's part of the donor class that exerts major influence on the political class, who in turn pays back that donor class.

And what's on the agenda of the donor class?  Making more money.  It's not about making the world a better place, it's about maximizing profits while exploiting others.  It's why so many people have become cynical.  Climate change, coronovirus, education, national defense:  it's all about lining pockets, while taking advantage of voters who actually think they care about doing the right thing.

You should look into what Chamath does and listen to the podcast, Roy. The point he was making on the podcast is very similar to the one you are making above.

Politicians get power from the system they manipulate and protect. The politicians are the next class of Billionaires who put nothing on the line. Billionaires are you and I, only with more money and business ability.

Not in all cases, but in less you've put everything you own on the line on a business deal, it's difficult to understand the process of stretching an elastic to its absolute max, having it not break and surviving.

Yep true enough... billionaires buy politicians who have a desire to be all powerful...and super wealthy. Why not, they're for sale.

You’re not wrong, but if he’s refused to play and retired bc of this, it’s a story for maybe a week tops, then everyone forgets about it

If he keeps playing he can keep bringing attention to all of this as often as he wants and on somewhat of a national stage instead of just a twitter account

Just like Chamath did on the podcast. There is just something wrong with a system that allows the kind of poverty around the world and some people make billions for being social influencers.

Enes was on Tucker Carlson last night speaking about this.

I've got mixed feelings about that.  Tucker is the biggest name in cable news, so it's the largest audience Freedom is going to get.  At the same time, I just see talk shows like that to be inherently dishonest, to the point of almost undermining the message.

Freedom said he heard about the comments right before game time, and was so disgusted that he had a hard time focusing on the game.  He cited to genocide, concentration camps, torture and gangrapes, saying that the comments made him sick.

I'm guessing Tucker's audience is not really the one you want to target if your concern is the oppression of Muslims around the world
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

I'm pretty tired of people pretending to care tbh

Enes on Tucker Carlson? That is rich. Politics makes for strange bedfellows…Enes is being used here. As for Chamath he is getting a beat down in investor circles. Will the NBA cancel him for speaking the truth?
