Keep getting this feeling that somehow Rich Paul is going to pull off something like this:

LAL In: Simmons, Green
PHI In: Westbrook, Horton-Tucker, 2026 LAL 1st, 2027 LAL 1st swap, 2028 LAL 1st, 2029 LAL 1st swap

Lol at the idea of Morey being forced to take Westbrook again by ownership.  He'd probably resign on the spot

Lol. Simmons for Westbrook is literally the least likely trade involving simmons. And yea Morey would resign on the spot. This would also cause Embid to demand a trade.

Zero chance of that even being discussed.

LA can't trade a pick until 2027 since New Orleans has rights to either 2024 or 2025 at their option.  So until and unless New Orleans selects 2024, the Lakers cannot trade 2026.  You also aren't allowed to trade picks in 2029 as that is 8 years into the future and you can only trade picks up to 7 seasons away (so 2028).

Aside from that, Philly would never acquire Westbrook in a Simmons trade.

Unless LA can find a place to dump Westbrook, they aren't going to be making any trades of any substance.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

I was wondering about a larger trade involving Anthony Davis and Tobias Harris.

76ers need AD to make it worthwhile taking on Westbrook (who is a bad fit for them). LAL needs T.Harris in addition to B.Simmons to consider parting ways with AD. It also rids them of Westbrook who is a net negative for them that they cannot move without sweetening the pot.

Lakers

G: Avery, Nunn
G: Monk, Ellington
F: Ben Simmons, THT, Ariza
F: T.Harris, C.Anthony
C: LeBron, Dwight, D.Jordan

I reckon they gotta go small. Not enough spacing with Dwight & Simmons in the same starting unit. Gotta keep LeBron at the 5.

76ers

G: Maxey, Westbrook (6th man)
G: Seth Curry, Korkmaz, Milton
F: Danny Green, Thybulle
F: Anthony Davis, Niang
C: Joel Embiid, Drummond

Westbrook is mostly a name and show off ,  he would not help or cooperate with Philly, and I suspect Doc probably doesn’t want another none team player   .    I think he hurts most Good teams now more than helps.  Westbrook belongs on really bad teams , where he can just do his thing and it doesn’t matter about his brainless style.

Trade for Westbrook isn’t happening but I agree Rich Paul will be up to something. I have enjoyed the fact that Morey hasn’t just caved to Simmons and Paul.

Not happening but funny to think of Morey selling the Lakers in small ball while building a roster around the best big man combo since Robinson and Duncan

My prediction is that Simmons either goes to the kings

http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y7s24doo

Or the 76ers keep him all season and send him to Blazer at the draft for what will be a top 5 pick and CJ

that's a great deal for the Sixers -- really surrounds Embiid with complementary talent.   Kings would have to be sold Simmons wants to play there and perform well which would be a real risk for them.  the Kings would still stink but they'd have a "big name" player for the fans to focus their frustrations at for their failures on the court.
