...has been doing this:

Since returning from injury
14 games
26.8 PPG
7.9 RPG
3.7 APG
45.5% FG%
37% 3PT%
77% FT%
56.2% TS%
4 games 30+ point
1 game 50 points
1 triple double

Over last 6 games
6 games
28 PPG
10.2 RPG
4.3 APG
50.4% FG%
42.2% 3PT%
79.2% FT%
60.2% TS%
1 games 30 points
1 game 50 points
1 triple double

The numbers are showing he is just getting better and better. The rebounding numbers are amazing for a SG. He is playing top notch defense 1-4. He is progressing farther and farther into possible superstar status and beginning to show he has #1 scoring option capabilities.

In the playoffs he has led his team in scoring 11 times, led his team in rebounding 4 times and led his team in assists once. And in his last year playing in the playoffs averaged
17 games
21.8 PPG
7.5 RPG
2.3 APG
47.6% FG%
36.8% 3PT%
84.1% FT%
58.6% TS%
11 games >=20 points
1 game >= 30 points
And played the best defense on the team often guarding PFs when he is a SG.

How can anyone want to trade this guy when every team in the league wishes they could have a player exactly like him? The Celtics have two!!!!

The coaching staff have riches in these two guys that every other coach in the league wishes they had. They aren't the problem. The GM/former coach and current coach are. They have to find a way to meld these two young stars together and surround them with the right cast of veterans than will only enhance their abilities.

Timelord is one of those players as a starting center. Everyone else is up for debate or needs to be moved. I think Pritchard and Richardson could be good bench guards....maybe. But everyone else needs to be traded for better fitting pieces around the two young stars.

In closing #JKJB...and Tatum too.

Maybe that added wording should be the new hashtag.

Everyone else needs to be replaced with maybe an exception or two. And if the GM and coach can't figure out how to maximize the Jays' abilities and the team's abilities by getting the proper supporting cast around them, then they probably should be replaced too.

Our problems are not a J problem. They are a BS, IU, AH, MS, JR, GW, EF, DS, PP, AN, RL, BF, JH problem.

I hadn't noticed that Marcus was putting up numbers like that.  Haha.

JB is the guy that only short-sighted people want to trade in most cases.

Update. JBs next game:

34 points
5 rebounds
3 assists
11-19 from the field
7-11 from 3point land
5-5 from the line
80.1% TS% for the game

sell high?  J/k

On a serious note…what is the team’s record in those games. The key is whether the big numbers, and they are big, impact winning.

Maybe we can trade him for Paul George now that he's out for the season.  I joke I Kid. He's got more heart than Tatum.

Hahaha this was my exact expectation when I clicked on the post. Then I saw the OP author and knew that was a wrong assumption.

The team is 8-7 since Jaylen came back, which includes tonight's win. I'm sorry, but the blame for being a .500 team has to rest on the shoulders of your best players. If a team has 2 "all stars", I would think .500 is not meeting expectations. Your best players have to make everyone around them better, and Jayson and Jaylen play more of an individualistic  rather than a team game.

Now, I'm not saying we should trade Jaylen, but I'm not putting blinders on either and just blaming everyone else besides the Jays.

His numbers the last 7 games are staggering. The team is 5-2 in those games with the losses being one against NYK that won the games on a last second 27 foot bank shot three pointer and the other a loss against SAS where, if the refs had called a foul for Brown after he stole the ball and got punched in the face while on the floor and an obvious basket interference call on JBs game ending layup after he stole another ball, the Celtics would have won that game.

JBs amazing last 7 games have definitely lead to better team results and better overall play.

Thanks for the response. Trade Tatum?

This makes no sense unless you are willing to admit that:

The Lakers being only one game above .500 is a Lebron issue.
The Nuggets being only one game above .500 is a Jokic issue.
The Sixers being 16-16 at one point was an Embiid issue.
And.
The Hawks being 5 games under .500 is a Trae Young issue.

Are the stars the issues with these teams, or maybe it's what's happening with the other players around those stars that's the problem? I am going with the latter.

Not entirely the same thing.  I mean the Sixers are 20-9 with Embiid and 3-8 without him.  Even the Lakers are 16-14 with Lebron and 5-7 without him and in the last 12 are 5-7 with Lebron, but without Davis.  Nuggets are 19-15 with Jokic and 1-4 without him.  Now the Hawks, are actually better without Trae Young this year.  And while Boston is not better without either Tatum or Brown, they aren't worse either as they are .500 with or without those guys.  So yeah if the team isn't worse when you don't play there may actually be something there.

This is a development season for both JB and JT in regards to playmaking. Love seeing Brown handle the ball more even though the turnovers are brutal, but I think these guys will figure it out and take the next step together. Let's not forgot they can also defend unlike other stars in this league.
