Our problem is, we can’t give him more than around $10 million next season.

In an ideal world, he signs with us for $10 million, and then the following season we give him a big contract starting around 17.5 million. But I don’t know if he will be that patient.

Biggest surprise this year to me is how reliable his midrange/ in the lane shots have been. Also he’s much better now than in first games at finishing drives. 3 seems to be increasing in proficiency too.

Knew he was Schroder but didn’t think he was much of a Schooter.

And much prefer the change in color of his  hair streak which I think coincides with his better play.

If C’s aren’t looking like a contender in January, maybe DS is a piece one of the contenders will send a prospect for at deadline.

The cherry on top: If we haven't moved into the upper echelon of the East by the trade deadline we should be able move him to a contender for a FRP.

Yeah, this is unfortunately the most likely outcome, but I’d love him here for years.

At deadline if team is 6 or 8 seed trade him if you can clear extra salary. Then try to use full MLE on him next year since we know he fits.

Better question:   If he keeps playing this well can the Celtics afford not to trade him to get some long-term value for him?

If the Celtics were able to move Hernangomez and Richardson by the deadline for expiring contracts, wouldn’t that allow the C’s to use that money(approximately $19.5 million) to re-sign Schroder? Jaylen is going to be back soon and Josh’s  minutes are going to drop significantly, then you have Romeo/Smart for the backup SG/SF minutes.

Also, what’s the deal with Al’s contract? $14.5m guaranteed for next season. Can they restructure?

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

I’d love to get the Lakers’ 2023 or 2024 1st for Schröder, betting against LeBron’s health holding up (he’s not gonna be Brady). Got a feeling they’ll bite, too, considering the disaster that is Westbrook (got a feeling he’ll be moved at the deadline too…they’re gonna behave at the deadline like the 2018 Cavs did…)

Was never a fan of Schroeder. He’s completely changed my impressions on him.

He always annoyed me as an opponent, because he was pretty consistently a pain in Boston's backside. So when Boston got him, I was happy, and he hasn't disappointed me.

He was always Rondo lite to me, and I'm the biggest Rondo fanboy, so ...

Yeah I love this feller.
