There is Al Horford getting younger and the maturing of Rob Williams.Last night it was his offensive rebounding but to me he isn't trying to block everything and his not falling for a pump fake.I have always said these high flyers have to come down and sometimes on someones foot or land awkwardly.
Aaron Nesmith needs to settle down for the sake of not injuring himself ;
I hated playing those kind of wild inexperienced styles .He is like a multiple car wreck at the moment
.First game of year Rob was like that. Now hes got a contract and is getting consistent playing time he seems much more measured and knows his intimidation is working while staying in control as a central part of defense.

There's a reason he was the #50 ranked recruit and a consensus four star one at that.  Health killed his first few seasons and my fingers are crossed it won't this one.

All I know is...8 offensive rebounds are huge in any basketball game! He's becoming the prototypical modern day NBA center.

Stay healthy young fella.

It was nice to see him so active last night. Those offensive boards and putbacks really energized the team.

Robert is so very quick and he lives in a world of slower bigs.

Robert can get from flat footed to chest at rim level so dang quick. The opponents just watch him do it.
His hands are just as quick.

"Chuck the ball towards and basket and let Robert get it!"

He took out the trash 5 or 6 times last night.

Pray he starts 30 or 40 games in a row and gets even better.

His defense is good, but needs better timing. His blox are, as we all know, amazing.

Fouls per 36 minutes each year for Rob Williams: 4.6, 4.7,  3.8, and 1.7 so far this season.

Maturing is very much what he's doing. If his health problems are behind him, he's an incredible player to have.

If Rob had gone to another team i think he could be out of league with injuries. The Celtics in essence his first year red shirted him .There was the new Auerbach Center his apartment 5minutes away  and his life coach. He had Al Horford and Brade Stevens who was unflappable and now gave him his first making money contract.Hes got Al back  and he has always been surrounded by players that put in the work young or vets..
I've seem him flat out dive for loose balls ala Dave Cowen's ,i have him passing like its a gift and last night to lose the ball and take it back away take a cool athletic dribble or two while scanning the court was as good as it gets for a recovery from a poked away steal .
He is without a doubt special--How good do you  guys think he can get. Could McHale teach him an inside game.He took some shots that were not dunks looking to expand
I like the mix of talent Jason ,Jaylen, Romeo, Aaron Nesmith -all proto-type NBA bodies with length and wingspan--Then there is Payton Pritchard between the face mask and new physicality it's impacted his game along with Jason and Grant hitting threes and strong but missing wingspan

That was a great sequence.  His ability to snatch a ball and get his body controlled and then have immediate awareness of what to do next is amazing.  His hands and his brain are unique.  Also a pogo stick for legs. That said, I have virtually no faith that he can remain healthy.

I wonder if the changes in how fouls are called is helping big men like Williams.   They would have the hardest time avoiding the non-basketball motion that was allowed before now.

Timelord is now playing under control ,beautiful basketball ,  not fouling because of being over eager is calming to me as well as fan ,  he is fast learning to play the game the right  way  It’s slowed down for him , reacting to opportunities in mature manner.   I ve been so pleasantly surprised , he got off to slow start as a green and shy rookie and has turned his whole life around while fighting injuries .  Nice to see him break out.

A bit OT:

With TL starting to flourish, one would think his trade value is increasing as well. Would it be wise to sell high on him, granted there’s a 3 way deal out there that nets us Simmons in exchange for Smart and Timelord? I’m pretty torn but the idea of JT,JB, and Simmons looks like a perennial contender to me.

No way, keep TL.

I like TL, but I can’t see him being of much value to Philly given they have Embiid.

Actually, that’s why I said that it would have to be a 3 way deal.
