The 76ers already look good.  Imagine if the 76ers bring in these players from the Celtics for a guy that's literally giving them less than nothing.

First I will list the top 9 players on the 76ers and their PPg and then in your mind tell me what you think the team is lacking.

If you would, project how many more wins the Celtics players would add to phillys Win total.

Embiid 21.4 ppg
T Harris 20
Curry 17
Maxey 14.4
Korkmaz 13
Niang 11
D Green 7
Drummond  7
Thybulle  5

You have solid shooting actually.  I think they could really use another versatile big man with only Drummond behind Embiid.  Definitely Timelord would help them.

Embiid, Timelord,  Harris, Curry,  Maxey  great big ball lineup.

Timelord,  Smart, Schroder,  Nesmith,  Romeo and Juancho as a filler plus two Firsts for Ben I can't shoot Simmoms. Prichard is available.

By adding Timelord,  Smart,  Schroder especially, your now 12 deep and the deepest team in the NBA.  With a great defender in Langford at guard where they need it and a potential shooter in Nesmith.

Throw in the pucks and yes they could get one player beget than we can give,  but you have to like phillys chances of winning a ring this year in a very wide open NBA which is extremely rare.

Bigs, Embiid,  Timelord,  Drummond

Forwards, Tobias Harris,  Niang,  Thybulle,  Juancho

SG Curry,  Korkmaz,  Romeo,  Nesmith

PG Maxey,  Denis, Smart

They actually might want Grant Williams lol. That's the only position they somewhat lack. You have to admit that would be a tough team to beat I'm for anyone.

So a team with 14 active players is going to trade one player that isn't active for up to 7 players and a couple picks. That means to complete the trade Philly needs to cut or salary dump at least 6 of their current players.

And Boston would be left with

Horford
Brown
Tatum
Simmons
Schroder
Richardson
Kanter
Grant Williams
Bruno Fernando
2 two way players not good enough to fill a roster spot

And 6 empty roster spots.

Of course, then maybe Boston signs the guys the Sixers cut for vet min contracts to fill out the roster.

So convoluted. Such a bad trade that stands as good of a chance of happening as Simmons does of hitting a three pointer in a close fourth quarter of a playoff game.

Just answer this without knowing what future moves the 76ers would make.

Say they are on pace for 50 wins this season.  How many more wins would they muster with this roster.  59?

 I'm taking about the 76ers.

Horford
Simmons
Tatum
Brown
Schroder or Prichard

That's a very versatile and talented five 👏  better than what we have now. Basically a perfect fit for Simmons skill-set,  plus would be fantastic defensively.

Obviously the bench is trash,  but in the NBA that's easy to do if you have a world class starting five.

Point of this thread is, not that i  would even make this trade. Is that 76ers probably are not getting a stud like CJ anymore.

They may just have to settle for Appetizers and not a main course.

I don't think 76ers take that deal. They need to deal for an All-star quality guard or get Simmons playing again.

I really don't think Philly would consider a 6-for-1 trade. Personally speaking, I'd happily do something along these lines:

That said, I believe Klutch is using the Celtics in order to generate more interest for their client. Chances are the Sixers don't want to trade with us.

Simmons is represented by Klutch

Why does anyone think Simmons could or would accept a role as some 21st century Dennis Rodman on the C's of all places?

Being part of the shady Klutch  family alone is enough reason not to have him on the team

It's all good C.C. this is just fun hypothetical talk. I know it won't happen.  Trying my best to make an offer that the 76ers might accept that doesn't include Brown or Tatum.

Would be a huge risk that's for sure.

It is not about future moves.  It is about precursor moves that the Sixers would need to make to even make the trade possible.  The Sixers would have to dump 4 or 5 players before they could make a 6 for 1 trade.  Those players they'd be dumping are at least as good as some of the players they'd be getting.

The players being proposed to go to the Sixers don't move the needle for them in the regular season let alone the playoffs.  You don't need a deep bench for the playoffs.  Even deep teams drop down to 7 or 8 man rotations in the playoffs.

If the Sixers move off of the requirement to get an all-star back for Simmons, they'll be able to get a much better deal than what you propose.  Smart and Timelord aren't good fits with Embiid.  Timelord would be a good backup but they already have Drummond cheap.  Nesmith,  Romeo and Juancho do nothing for the Sixers.  Schroder might provide a slight bump for them but that's because of their dearth at PG rather than his abilities.

One bad game in Boston and the media and fans would crucify Simmons and he would stop playing with some lame excuse while his agent asks for him to be traded. He just does not have the makeup for a media intense town. Sacramento is the perfect fit for him. They love their players no matter what and he will not be under the microscope. I am just not sure we can change a players mental mindset where he could thrive in Boston. I just dont see it as possible. Kyrie taught me a lot in this manner and I think Simmons would be a hundred times more perplexing.

Agree.  And a deal built around Hield and Bagley for Simmons would be much better for the Sixers than what they could get from us.  Unless of course Stevens has taken a massive blow to the head and is willing to do a Brown for Simmons deal.
