Brown: In the open court he's a monster. He thrives in attack mode, he now finds seams and open shots so easily. Much improved going to the hole too. His fall-away in the paint is deadly. However, he's not as effective in the slowdown game, and the reason the C's should push the ball and build around him. IMO he's the best offensive weapon the C's have. If he continues to grow and remains healthy, he's capable of averaging 28-30 in 3-4 years. My fingers are crossed on his health. He needs to have his number called more often in the half-court at games end.
Smart: Love hate relationship. Love him off the bench bringing in energy and toughness. Hate him as a starter where his best attributes are watered down. He needs to let scoring opportunities come to him more, and please stop talking other than on defense.
Big Al: Always liked Horford. He knows how to play the game. I'm hoping he can continue his strong play this season, however I'm expecting a down turn, after-all... father time is undefeated. They needed him badly this year for sure.
Time Lord: Can he stay healthy? I love how that long crane comes out of nowhere around the basket and jams the ball through the hole. Surprisingly good passer, but he's still a man-child. As a long term starter? The jury is still out.
Nesmith: I see something in him. A valuable borderline starter in a short time? Or a sixth-man stud? I like him. Let him play!
Romeo: I stand corrected on him. He's still immature, but I see some good signs coming from him. He's a strong defender, improving on offense. Needs minutes, health and maturity.
Grant: I also wish he was 6-8. It's no coincidence that he gets minutes no-matter who the coach is. Sold defender, big body, improving scorer and hopefully improving three point shooter. A nice kid to have on your bench, but he can't afford to rest on his laurels.
Richardson: I liked him before he came to the Celtics. I'm gonna cut him some slack. It's early.
Kanter: A big body, that has his moments around the basket. Can't defend, but he's shined in the playoffs in the past.
Prichard: I like how he brings pace into the game. Where are his PG skills? He shoots well, he handles very well too. He defends poorly. I need to see a few games where he really heats-up offensively. I see potential as an instant offensive option off the bench.
Jayson Tatum: At 23 he seems more interested in belonging to the NBA superstar club than contending for a ring. (harsh, I know) When he's not scoring, his net value really suffers and he sometimes mopes. He's convinced himself that it's his responsibility, and his alone to bring the Celtics back from any team deafest. Now that the NBA is learning how to defend against him, he needs to make defenders pay by finding the open man in a good spot to score the ball. I'm not happy with the pace and the aggressivness he plays with much of the time. Frankly, it's at odds with Brown. The good news? He's 23...and has a ton of natural talent.
The rest of the players are patches, and hole fillers, who may or may not be on the team in a few years.
