Biyombo = 16pts 6reb 3ast 2stl 3blk in 29min for Phoenix. Man, I would've liked to have had him on the end of the bench instead of Bruno Fernando. At least Biyombo can play legit D.

Nice to see him back in the league. One of these Covid relief signings. Wish we would've gone in for him.

He was never valued like he should have been IMO.  Always felt like there was an alternate timeline where Biyombo got the development he needed and became a DPOY candidate.  He doesn't have the hands or touch to be a good scorer (and I doubt he hits 16 points again this season) but there's no reason he can't provide positive value as a screen-setter and defender.

Agreed. Too much focus on what Biyambo can't do, combined with that silly contract he signed, generated a lot of negativity. The guy has always had value in a specific (albeit limited) role.

Sam Amick is reporting the Kings have softened their stance on who they'd include to get Ben Simmons (which was previously reported as both Fox and Haliburton being off limits). I do not see the Kings trading Haliburton.

That said, Fox is a dubious fit on the Sixers (duplicates Maxey).

I wonder..... would a deal like this work for all three teams?

Cs trade: Smart, Horford
Cs get: Fox, Harkless

Sixers trade: Simmons
Sixers get: Smart, Hield

Kings trade: Fox, Hield, Harkless
Kings get: Simmons, Horford

There could be a pick here or there to round things, but I see merit for all here. A fringe benefit to the Cs is they get under the tax in the deal.

Not against a trade like this, except that it makes Philly much better than they are today (with Simmons not playing for them).

I get that POV. But it also makes the Celtics much better, and I think the Cs need to focus on their own talent acquisition at this point. I think worrying about inter-division trades is a little overrated.

By the way, you can also throw Bagley in for Harkless, depending on your view of the deal.

Why would the Sixers do that?  They'd be much better off with Fox than Smart and Hield.  And the Kings are better off with Hield than Horford.  To include Boston, Boston would have to include several 1st round picks or young players to get that value anywhere close to Fox or Simmons.

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson

I don’t agree with your first statement, which renders the rest of the points moot.

Don't think Fox is a good fit here. He plays like a #1 option but even at his best has only been average in efficiency. He dominates the ball way too much and we already have too much of that. I also don't like his defense.

If you want to pry someone away from Sactown, get Barnes or Haliburton. Neither  are probably available, but those are guys I wouldn't have an issue throwing picks at the Kings for.

Agree but we don’t have what it takes to get TH. I’d wait on Barnes — his value will decrease in the summer.

That said, virtually every PG is going to have a usage rate that looks to high to this blog because our team is built around two iso players who play the same position “taking turns”. And I think it’s kinda silly to suggest one wouldn’t take Fox for Smart and Horford (which is prolly a reach anyway).

Lance Stevenson 20 points in the first Q tonite (not a typo).

And more importantly, the Pacers are up by 13 at the half over the Nets who have KD, Kyrie and Harden all playing.

Man.

I wish Kyrie wasn't such an unbearable ass. I love seeing him play the game.

But wish he could play with his name removed from the jersey and a bag over his head.

The Bucks reportedly are releasing Cousins for roster flexibility before tomorrow's deadline for guaranteeing contracts. I would love to see the Celtics finally grab him.
