Odd tweet by klutch. They have said negative attention is hurting ben mental health and isn’t ready to play and then do this? Get they are doing all their players but this just creates negative responses

Not cool at all.

I think he'd be better off playing and purposefully playing like crap and being an annoyance to his teammates. Force his way out that way. If he wants to keep his paycheck that is vs sitting out and missing all his checks.

I don't like all this mental health nonsense. Mockery.

They are an agent, that is what agents do and they literally did it for every single NBA player they have signed.  Singling Ben out and ignoring him would actually be more of a story than doing the exact same tweet they did for everyone else.  I mean they did one for John Wall who hasn't played this year either.  And guys like Josh Okogie who are obviously no where near all star level players.

And then they have this one with every single player they have signed.

I mean that is what agents do and should be the expected course of action.  It is a non-story.

Old friend, Greg Monroe was the record 541st player to play this season.  I'm guessing they may go past 600 with the way things are looking.

Mo if he hadn’t come out and literally said that the negative attention was hurting Ben’s mental health a month back you would be correct. However they did say that. They than created a tweet that created thousands more people making fun of Ben simmons. You really can’t have it both ways. This is pretty basic common sense.

On a slightly related topic nba should have a minimum number of games played to make the all star game (silver could still award a spot if it was a retiring legend or magic Johnson scenario). Asking fans to vote for players that haven’t played at all is just making a no mockery of the process (and I realize klutch is not the only one doing that).

Eh.  If they didn't do one for Simmons, but did one for everyone else, including guys like John Wall that haven't played a game this year, I think it would have been a bigger story with more negative attention.  It is a non-story.  They just cut and paste the same thing and changed the player for all of their players.  That is what you expect an agent to do.  And clearly Ben wouldn't play in the game, but he very might well have bonuses tied to making the all star game (in his contract with Philly or endorsement deals), such that if the fans voted him into the game it might increase the pocket book.  Again, I think it is a non-story and I'd expect every agent in every sport to make a similar tweet related to the athletes they represent.

Should probably stop talking about how Ben being in the news hurts his mental health if he wants to do this. It literally created thousands of tweets of people making fun of Ben. If this stuff really hurts his mental health (which rich Paul went on a media interview to say it does) then it was stupid. And yeah gotta call nonsense people would have noticed if he skipped Ben or some other player. Maybe one person would tweet at him where’s Ben. But certainly not thousands like responded and quote tweeted this. (Or the numerous blogs that were written on, even going back to his native Australia). But hey, if you don’t see this logic. We can just agree to disagree. Seems pretty basic to me.

Franz Wagner is legit!

38-7-3 against the Bucks on 12-20 from the floor, 4-8 from 3 and 10-10 from the FT line.

He can create his own shot. He can create shots for his teammates. He can run the PnR as a 6'9" ball handler! He can play on or off the ball. He's a plus defender. He can do it all! If you ask me, he's on his way to become a rich man's Hayward. He's taller, longer and more athletic than Hayward. Chances are he'll become stronger as well.

Rockets young guys have it tied with Lakers with 5 minutes left. This (like our loss to minnesota) would probably be their season rock bottom if they lost.

Everything is a story in this ridiculous era of sensationalism.

Might have actually gone full circle with this - had they actually singled Simmons out, people would have been unable to comment on the post. Having proper media-savvy is tough nowadays.

I have bagged on them when they lost, but have to admit both westbrook and lebron played well down the stretch to pull this one off.

I mean this is kind of basic PR strategy. If you have an employee/issue/person getting slammed by the press and customers (in this case) fans you don't do things to put him/it in the limelight (I work in social media professionally, and this is one of the first things I learned, as we had a lot of issues over the year, and especially once covid happened. If we were getting slammed for not having enough personal protective equiment (every health insurance company didn't have enough in the beginning) the last thing we would do is start creating content about our staff being most protected or just mention it in general. It was a no win situation).

And you are exactly right that if you don't make the post, people can't quote tweet it, screen shot it or comment on it. They can't write blogs about it. The idea that somehow people would start sending tons of Tweets at Klutch for not doing a vote ben simmons for all star tweet isn't something I need to explain why it is so silly. It is really pr/social media 101. This isn't even adding in the hilarity that we are talking about someone the agency literally said was having their mental health damaged by negative press/attention. This is really something we should just be able to have a chuckle over it. It was a basic bungle, could honestly see at down the line at some social media seminars/trainings I attend as an example of a mistake.

He has been very impressive. Much better at creating his own offense off the dribble than I had expected.

I thought he'd be nothing more than a glue guy type role player.

I viewed his floor as Who's post above, and a poor man's Utah Hayward as his ceiling. My projected ceiling might end up being his floor. Incredibly impressive. The magic may have finally hit on one of their swings (Isaac excluded. Injuries are terrible.)
