I think the C’s will go with a G-league veteran (someone in his mid-20s) rather than a recently undrafted prospect for this second 2-way.  Someone who can give them emergency minutes this season.

Accordingly, I think it will go unfilled until the end of camp, to see how the roster is actually shaping out and get someone at a position of need.
I don't think the 17th roster spot matters that much, and certainly seems unnecessary to fill it for 'emergency minutes'.  This roster is better balanced than the last couple of seasons so, barring injury, it's hard to imagine any emergency needs.

That’s his point, though, isn’t in?  Last season, there were times when we had four or five guys unavailable due to injury or illness.

Yeah its especially noticeable when the guys who are out play the same position.

Maybe they're just waiting to add a player if needed in the season but it's just a two-way and most of those spots are already full.

Maybe someone from camp invite will make the team. But then, maybe Brad would just let that spot be vacant.

Having that open two-way spot is a good incentive for guys to come into our camp. Guys will at least feel they are playing for that spot.

Ty-shon Alexander got waived by Phoenix and I kind of liked him coming out of Creighton as a wing who could shoot. Wouldn't mind him in camp with an inside track on the two-way.

Nice shot. I wouldn't mind having him on a two-way.

Why would the Cs want to leave a 2-way slot vacant?

Several possible reasons, but the one I see is they may not want to commit a full season to a player that may not be in their future.  On a 2-way, they still will provide support from trainers, and a spot on the G-league team.

That may be true for a roster spot, but a 2-way's a cheap way to control developmental talent.

Speaking of developmental talent. Begarin and Madar are playing this next season in Europe, but when does that end? Euroleague only plays a 40 game season, plus a couple of playoff rounds, don’t they?

Is it possible for either of them to finish their season and sign a 2-way deal here after they’ve fulfilled contract obligations in France and Turkey?

WNBA players typically play in both leagues because the seasons don’t overlap and I think the contracts can be concurrent? They don’t need to sign a series of one year contracts to play in the different leagues. What are the NBA and European rules? Are there restrictions?

The contracts can’t overlap without being bought out, but if the season is over and the contract is complete, could they sign an NBA contract for the remainder of the NBA season, if the Euro season is shorter and finished before the NBA?

I can’t think of anyone doing that in prior seasons though.

Edit: it looks like they play 34 regular season games in a 34 round format and then playoffs, but the season isn’t shorter. It runs from October to April.
