League: Coaches, Trainers, Referees Must Be Vaccinated

The NBA informed teams Friday that all personnel under team control who work within 15 feet of players or referees during games will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 for the upcoming season, according to a memo obtained by ESPN. Yeah, just saw this. Makes zero sense if you’re also not going to mandate the players to do so, given, you know, that they’re the ones who are actually making significant close contact with each other. It’s like mending 3 of 5 holes in a bucket and expecting the bucket to stay full - yeah, it’ll stay full a little longer due to fewer holes, but there’s still holes in the bucket.

But, alas, too afraid to p off the moneymakers of the league!

It does.  I’m in a union that sees this as an opportunity to negotiate, which ticks me off.  I’d rather my fellow union holdouts get vaccinated, and am considering leaving the union because of it.

I was mostly making fun of the idea, but if you don't think many doctors would hold out if 100k bonuses or the like were on the table, you don't know enough doctors.

I’m fairly sure if the league negotiates a deal with the players that everyone has to be vaccinated or else that Schröder will find his love of $5.9 million exceeds his hatred of vaccines.
