I'm assuming we'd have to wait until he gets bought out, clears waivers and then... offer him the vet minimum?

He’d be a terrific fit here. It’s a shame he’d never sign here but he’d carve out a nice significant role on this team.

Schroder-Brown-Tatum-Love-TL
Pritchard-Smart-Richardson-Horford

That’s a deep team!

Will be interesting to see where he winds up if he gets bought out. He’s already won a championship so I’m not convinced he will go to a Brooklyn or LA. He’s still a great passer, rebounder, and can hit the 3. Also a good vet presence and former champion.

He’s only 32 so it’s not like he’s washed up yet. He has had nagging injuries though the last few years. Probably better suited to bench role at this point. He’d be a major upgrade over G Williams or J Parker though!

1) Love is always hurt
2) He doesn't play D and you'd need Robert Williams to cover his butt
3)  He is old and in the twilight of his career
4) Many of you are thinking of Love of five years ago

And yet he'd be an upgrade over many of the options we have at PF.

We'll see if someone spots him at Logan...

We'll have Kelly Olynyk pick him up at the airport,

Love at the veteran minimum is absolutely worth it.  He still produces at a pretty nice rate when he plays, he just plays so little you can't invest a lot of money into him, but as a guy on your bench for the minimum, sign him 100 times out of 100.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Our two best players can both play power forward at an elite level. The current minutes distribution depends on it. Any more than 12 minutes at PF coming from anyone else pushes Tatum and Brown back into slots we have a minutes crunch at.

Love would take minutes from Nesmith and Richardson

Brown hasn’t played much PF.  Tracking data suggests he spent 97% of his minutes last season at SG or SF for instance.

Brown doesn’t play PF. Love would steal some of Tatum’s mins at the 4 in certain matchups and push JT/JB down to their natural spots. Not that Love would get huge minutes but he is a certified better player than G Williams and J Parker. Both those guys are pretty useless so K Love would be upgrade there.

Love's won a title, so it's hard to imagine he'd give up a significant chunk of the $60 million the Cavs owe him just to go sit on the bench for Lebron.

Five-time All-Star forward Kevin Love has no interest in negotiating a buyout on the two years, $60 million left on his contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers, his agent Jeff Schwartz of Excel Sports told ESPN on Saturday.

"There have been no talks with Cleveland on a buyout, nor is there any interest from Kevin in doing a buyout," Schwartz told ESPN.

The Cavaliers have periodically explored trading Love -- a scenario that he's supports -- but have been unable to find a deal that they're willing to execute, sources said.

Sounds pretty definitive for now.

Man he got his money but that contract destroyed his career. He obviously gets frustrated too throwing the ball at teammates in game. Really sad way to see the twilight of his career just as a general fan of basketball.

He has his own priorities whatever they may be.  He’s made a ton of money and stands to make a ton more.  If maximizing his bank account is his priority he has a right to go that route.  I’m surprised I guess that he wouldn’t at least want to hear a buyout offer.
