If it's pure basketball roster, I'd say Carson.
I think we will see one more trade.

They might keep Edwards for the future big deal trade...he can be one of 4 contracts or something going out.

Like Parker's game and athleticism, but that contract is not guaranteed and he is not a defensive stalwart.

They are not going to dump Grant Williams, too good of a defender.

Awful lot of guards for Dunn to find minutes.

I guess it's a flat footed tie between Dunn & Parker which sounds like a law firm.
No idea on Bruno. He really can't shoot real well thus is another Robert type of big. Keep him for awhile and see if Robert has an injury free year.

It’ll be a battle in training camp between Carsen, Parker, Fernando,  and Dunn. I would love to keep Parker. I feel we’ll get a player who’ll perform way above his salary. He has a lot to prove and hopefully he’ll be in shape come training camp. When do we need to trim the roster down to 15?

I voted for Edwards, for basketball reasons. I don’t know what type of financial implications it will have if we get rid of Carsen instead of the others but he’s an undersized shooter who can’t shoot. I actually had Tremont above him on the depth chart and it’s not like Waters was a legit rotation player anyway

Grant and Edwards should be the guys to go.

These are all end of benchers we're talking about so none of them are really any good. But I would be amazed if Dunn is on the roster at the start of the season. They might have something to work with with Fernando but his pick and roll defense is horrible and he was repeatedly exposed during the final SL game against the Kings. I doubt GWill or Edwards will go anywhere, GWill has shown he can add value if they want to play small ball and I have a feeling they think Edwards has some value as a defender against smaller guards. Parker is a horses for courses type selection.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

Play Bruno as a small ball center and you won't think that.  GWILL often has more value to the other team in any capacity.  Can't rim protect, can't board, his alleged value is like from three good games.

Edwards has value against smaller guards, what if the other team does not play smaller guards, then what value does he have?

Both of these guys are truly only good in specific situations given your comments and I would argue that they are not that good in those situations.   We don't want that we want swiss army knives that can play in all situations.   Why tie your hands with so and so is good against this?   Get versatile guys who do not tailored scenarios, other teams will pick up on this and exploit them.

They're nice guys I get it but nice guys do not always win games.

Don't disagree, I prefer Fernando over G-Will for center depth, but both have serious deficiencies as power forwards.  Which is really an issue in my mind given we have Kanter for center depth.  Grant has the additional issue of being owed about $5M over the next two seasons, so you can't just eat that contract by cutting him.

Jabari Parker is an ideal vet backup PF who I would use over either Grant or Bruno in most situations, given the center depth of Rob-Will/Horford/Kanter.

I think because of the contract, not ability that Carsen and Gwill will stick sadly

I picked Jabari.

Poor fellow, he was overestimated in his draft class. He didn’t have good movement even before his catastrophic injuries, and he is now a very poor defender. If he could shoot better outside the paint he would certainly help his cause.

I’m sure that the coaching staff appreciated his hustle points last season, and I’ve heard that he’s a good teammate. But he cannot seem to get through a season without missing significant time.

If I understand correctly, he now has $100k guaranteed. It’s interesting that Boston let that deadline go by. That could mean that they’ve got a trade for someone else on the roster in mind.

'I was proud of Marcus Smart. He did a great job of keeping us together. He might not get credit for this game, but the pace that he played at, and his playcalling, some of the plays that he called were great. We obviously have to rely on him, so I’m definitely looking forward to Marcus leading this team in that role.' - Jaylen Brown, January 2021

I'm sure that half the teams in the league are targeting OKC right now.  They have plenty of room under the salary cap to absorb salary, and I'm pretty sure that they're well under the cap floor.

You think the Celtics are worried about $100K?

Anyways, if they can't dump salary everyone is getting a look at training camp.

It's funny how our perspective changes. I would have to think long and hard before chucking away $100K of my money! Your point is well taken, of course - in the context of NBA salaries, that's a small amount. But why throw it away if you're just going to waive him anyway? They wouldn't have owed him even that if they'd waived him a week ago - ergo, they think that they might keep him, ergo they think that they might trade somebody.

If they don't waive him by opening day, he's guaranteed 50%.

I would've waived him, but there are lots of (good) reasons to sign a 15th man, or whatever he would be.

Kris Dunn is more of an asset than Jabari (he's younger, and he has an NBA skill that he is top 10% at - unlike Jabari); but by the same token he has more direct competition for playing time.
