Kemba is a Knick

So not one team was willing to give up any assets for him. Huge buyout, wow.

We were lucky to get rid of him then.

Maybe luck but gotta give credit to PBS for the early move

Gotta say, that is a much improved team over last year with the additions of Kemba and Fournier to a team that was offensively challenged last year and relied on out-working out-hustling tired opponents during a hectic schedule (that was unlikely to repeat, work as well, this season).

Some good young talent with RJ Barrett, Quickley and Toppin who could show improvement also. Further enhancing the Knicks chances next season.

I don’t think Kemba starts over D-Rose. Thibs is going to hate his defense. Could see NY using him as a spark off the bench. He’s like a Lou Williams type at this stage of his career.

Amazing how bad Danny messed up these last few years. Some of it was bad luck but he really botched things up.

Credit to PBS for trading Kemba when he did and at least getting a serviceable Horford back with a far easier to move contract in a year.

Hopefully PBS can salvage the mess that Danny left for him.

Do you really not think Ainge laid the foundation of the Kemba deal?

Walker and Fournier had pretty good chemistry when they played together on the court last season.  Good for them.  Not happy at how this free agency period is unfolding.  Lol

Keep in mind, we really got Horford and Josh Richardson for Kemba and a 1st.  That and some second round pick swaps is the net for the trade.  I think both Horford and Richardson are going to be important pieces for our team in 2021-22.  It is to be seen if Kemba can hold up and contribute anything.

I am sure both GMs deserve some credit for this trade.  Danny may well have set some ground work but Brad pulled the trigger.  Pretty good first deal for Brad in any case.  Doesn't change the world for the team but a nice move towards building a future team around Tatum and Brown while maintaining some competiveness.

No way he let's the C's buy him out.  They're a playoff team and with him (healthy), might be a legit contender.  OKC is rebuilding (still) so he allowed a buyout from them to get to a better spot.

Wow! Great get for the Knicks. They add Kemba for nothing and are looking like a dangerous team and are looking like a lock for 4-6, after the big 3 of Milwaukee/Brooklyn/Philly. Miami has improved and Atlanta will be better (tho let’s see how the rules change affects Trae Young lol)

Just want to remind peeps that Kemba was awesome for an entire season before injuries messed him up.  His injury highlighted his PG deficiencies...

I was a keep Rozier type...but Kemba was great in many ways for a good while..

OKC schooled us.  They got rid of Horford, picked up a draft pick (which they then turned into two), and got Kemba to agree to a buyout. Wow.  Saved money AND got a draft pick (usually it is one or the other).

Reminiscent of Larry Bird teaching a rookie a lesson back in the day.

I was born in NY so always had a soft spot for Kemba and really liked him at UConn (my sister's alma mater and I almost went there).

Folks, this is tanking, Brad-style.  Trading him and not re-signing Fournier enabled both of them to get to a rival team.  Not signing any FAs enabled that group to get to rival teams.  Not saying it was consciously done for that reason, but it has to be thought as a possible outcome.  That said, I'm still on the Brad bandwagon for this upcoming BRIDGE YEAR.
