Great pick Brad. Really happy about a high upside pick at #45. He might not become a real nba player.  But the upside is certainly there.

6'6" man child. Hearing he's 18 years old was shocking.  He's like a SF version of Amare Stoudemire.  Absolute freak. Runs like a deer. Moves fantastic in the court.  Great first step. 7 foot wingspan.  Good standing reach.

Very large hands. Dunks it like a volleyball.  Really impressive find Brad. Well done. Reminds me of Kuminga that was drafted #7 this year by the warriors.

In terms of physical profile I see a lot of similarities between Begarin and Jaylen Brown. That type of elite physical profile is the ideal foundational skill for an NBA player.

Yeah, Jaylen and Begarin move the same on the court. Both guys are physical freaks. I can only hope that Begarin is as hard a worker as Jaylen.

I'm glad somebody else sees this. I mentioned it in the draft-day thread. Their measurements are eerily alike, Begarin is probably a bit more built at 18 than JB was

Begarin has said he bases his game on Westbrook but he looks like college Jaylen on the court.

Begarin is quicker than Jaylen and has a better first step.

I was bearish on the pick last night but after sleeping on it, I actually like it. He has the size, athleticism and strength you can’t teach and is quite young.

Not much to lose here and we probably didn’t want an undersized PG who can’t shoot and turns the ball over a lot in Sharife Cooper.
2023 Non-Active, Non-NBA 75 Historical Draft, SAB Bulls:

PG: Deron Williams 08 / John Wall 17
SG: David Thompson 78 (HOF) / Hersey Hawkins 91
SF: TMac 03 (HOF) / M.R. Richardson 81 / Tayshaun 07
PF: Larry Nance Sr 92 / Blake Griffin 14
C: Lanier 77 (HOF) / Brad Daugherty 91 / Camby 07

This is exactly the type of player you want in the second round if you’re a team like the Celtics that already has enough youth on it’s roster.

The kid hasn’t even turned 19 yet. What his weaknesses are at this point are irrelevant. He is mega athletic and seems to have a nice offensive feel. At that spot you roll the dice and see what type of player he becomes in a couple years after developing on another team’s payroll.

I kinda thought so too,  maybe it’s the video ,  his hands and control ….is Lebron like …..he passes and controls the ball like it is the size of a tennis ball ,  flicking it around at warp speed with out telegraphing the play like some of our young guys.

I mean if he grows 2-3 inches ….he might be a top 20 pic in the next draft.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

He is taller than edwards plays better defense and passes better than him..  unless Edwards shoots 50% from 3 you cannot play him

Hopefully the new coach actually allows Carsen Edwards to play on the ball instead of being asked to be a spot up shooter (which is not his game) all the time.

If Carsen does stay, I'll be interested to see if Udoka can get more out of him. I thought CBS did a bad job with Carsen.

Great highlights.  I see a guy that is by far the best athlete on the court, very good sense of the game, nose for the ball, tenacious about getting to the rim, finishes with both hands comfortably, and when he did shoot, his stroke/touch was pretty good.

He is 18 years old.  He should be getting ready to head off to college at Kentucky but instead he is getting ready to go to Las Vegas to play against NBA and almost NBA men.

We will know a lot more after the summer league but what is not to like?  Is he going to be better than Yam already?

Athletic freaks that can go to the hole usually thrive in Summer League. He's going to be good for some highlights!
