Something about our team unsettles me....We lost too many guys in last couple years....this never happen idea is a short term step back for long term gain, and a huge gamble obviously.
Something about the Brown Tatum combo concerns me...I guess it has to do with amount of time with ball in their hands...without the true distribution skills, and an over-reliance on Tatum (trying to force him into Lebron/Luka role when it's not his strength.
So, the answer is to trade our best player...Tatum. Nothing else brings enough back to switch gears.
Neither team likely does this..(especially C's) but it's:
Tatum and Carsen Edwards for Scottie Barnes, James Bouknight, Gary Harris (1 year) and Chuma Okeke.
If Bouknight is not there at 8, an alternative is picked, including trading down from pick 8 for targeted guy plus future asset. Or the trade is nixed if no one else at 8 entices.
Bouknight is not just a scorer but excellent ball handler with high rated intangibles. NBA ready. A scoring machine (helps make up for Tatum's absence). S. Barnes is as advertised, defense, distribution, passion, size.
Smart, Pritchard, Yam
Bouknight, Romeo
Brown, Nesmith
S. Barnes, Okeke, GWill
Horford, R. Will, M. Brown
Separately or added to expand the trade can be TT, GWill...

With Barnes as a Point Forward type, and Bouknight's handling and IQ, etc...Bouknight can eventually become the starting PG for the C's...couple years from now or so...
