BTW, who’s gonna post some YouTube clips of this Frenchman? France has really upped their ball game in recent years, so I’m quite optimistic about this guy. Fournier could be a good mentor, too.

Someone help me understand Woj's tweet about the Boston pick:

"Finally, Boston at No. 45: Juhann Begarin, per source."

Why does he start it with "Finally"?  No other pick he tweets seems to start off that way.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

Whoa, Juhann Bergerin??

WHO???
Athletic French wing

Stash pick?
Most likely. Still only 18 and has a tonne of physical upside. His build, size, wingspan and athleticism remind me of Jaylen (not at all comparing their ability to play ball)

He moves like Jaylen. I was thinking the same thing as I watched him.

He is more explosive than Jaylen..and demonstrate the ability to finish through contact.

Great. If only he knew how to shoot.  :-\
Quoting Nick from the now locked Ime thread:
Quote
At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

This guy looks like a Danny Ainge special. Athletic combo guard that can’t shoot.

I assumed it was because it was our first pick of the draft.

The lad better have all the upside he can get, he played for a second division team in France last season. For everyone ****ing on Yam for playing on a team that's not the best in his country, a Eurobasket team is still one of the better teams in Europe, this is like a player who's a squad player for Brentford versus a superstar for Leicester City in football terms.
Maybe he's our Giannis ;D

Frankly, would have taken Garza at 45 and hope he somehow gets faster. Oh well. Here’s to hoping Juhann is the next great second rounder Euro.

His shooting is quite comparable to a young JB actually. Better from 2 and from 3, worse from the line. I don't think using a 45th pick on an athletic raw 18 year-old is the end of the world.

It's also not a good pick when prospects like Boston and Cooper were available at #45 and you're not really going to stash Bergerin anyways.

💯

We really cannot expect much more at 45. Frankly, the mystery of the Frenchman excites me. I love taking mysterious euros in the second round.

Love the optimism but no, Bergerin is 6'5 right now and will only really grow to 6'7 or 6'8 at best - that's a far cry from a 6'9 Giannis growing to 6'11/7'0.
