I don't know if this is true, but if it is, then Brad got snookered by Presti.

Doesn't work in the trade machine to the tune of $29.8 million.

So, this is a fake account designed to look like the legit NBA Central page, so it's not legit.

That being said, in order for the Lakers to take back Kemba they have to send out about $28.8 million in salary, and the only way to get there is by packaging Kuzma, KCP, and one more salary. If OKC manages to get a pick out of LA to move that contract then God bless, but it'd have to be the rights to this year's pick after the draft, and OKC already has six picks in this draft.

Getting four players for one after selecting six in the draft creates a very real problem of how the hell you all those roster people, for what it's worth.

To be clear, if Lebron's super done with Kuzma then Kemba might wind up a Laker, and they could make the money work with Kuzma/KCP/a warm body, I just don't think they'd be giving up a first to take all that money. If anything they might get a second.

If Schroder agreed to go back to OKC, then a sign and trade with him as the big money, wouldn't be that hard to swing.  Schroder, Kuzma, 1st for Walker and maybe someone like Jerome.

Can we get Jerome and fit him into a trade exception?

Nah, even if true, I'd rather have next summer with some Cap flex to then to have Kuzma. He's a bit repetitive when you add him next to Tatum and Brown.

Yup. How many postseason games would LeBron, AD, and Kemba play in together? Probably not many.

Very curious how the Lakers could take $36m in salary while only sending out $13m.

I feel like Schroder, Kuzma and one of the few 1sts LA have is more valuable than Kemba when you consider financials and durability.

If Kemba is essentially worth 2 1st round picks (one from us and one from LAL), then Stevens absolutely blew the deal. At the very least, if we could have traded Kemba for Kuzma, whatever, and a 1st, we would then be a net positive with 1sts right now, rather than a net negative. And let's not pretend the #16 pick is some trash pick - it is likely to be the highest pick we have for the next several (or more) years.

To be clear, I can't imagine this will happen. It's possible OKC might find a taker for Kemba, but they absolutely shouldn't be getting yet another 1st unless they take on an even worse contract. I mean we had to take on a pretty trash contract and we still had to give up a 1st.

I think that was the point though. Stevens seemingly does not want to add more rookies this season after having so many inexperienced guys over the last couple of seasons
