OK, I'll admit that I put up a title that would get attention this weekend.  Please note that this is a play on words and is NOT literally about 4th of July fireworks.  It's about Wyc.

Remember his comment a few years ago about 'fireworks'?  Now he's saying it will be a busy July in Celtics land.  Do you believe it, or is it just Wyc trying to be provocative and maintain fan interest after the Horford trade and Odoka hiring?

I can't help but think that Wyc and Danny didn't always see eye-to-eye.  It's almost as if Wyc was willing to make bold moves, but Danny was more conservative.  Was Danny fired?  We'll probably never know, but the team falling back in the playoff pack (and almost not making it at all) had to be a big factor in the front office moves.  Yes, there were injuries, but IMO, that only shows how weak the bench was.

Gotta hope that Wyc and Brad are more on the same page.  Be bold.

I think it will be a quiet July publicly, because the biggest moves the Celtics can most easily make are to extend Smart and Time Lord and re-sign Fournier, none of which can really be announced until August.  So behind the scenes there will be a lot of internal deliberation and likely some negotiations, but the fruits of that labor, if there are any, won’t be seen until later.

Sadly free-agency is now in August, so we won't be celebrating Wyc's fireworks this year... unless he keeps some for next month LOL.

I think we can still make trades for "this" season though, but even so options are limited (if true).

It probably will be a busy July, only for the internal workings for the team, not stuff fans will actually witness or care a whole lot about.

The have to finish pre draft workouts of players.

They have to finalize their draft board.

They have to initialize or finalize discussion on any draft day trades they may want to make. Or not make on draft day but perhaps in August.

They have to finish interviews and hiring of the rest of Udoka's coaching staff.

They have to continue with any front office changes Brad may want.

They have the draft.

They then have to scout out players for Summer League and finalize ideas as to whom to invite.

Have an introductory presser for any draftees or players traded for on draft day.

Very busy July. Just don't expect a lot of news that will spark your interest very much.
