I think this would be a pretty good trade for both teams. GSW is in win now mode. Raptors better off rebuilding as it is not a marquee destination

Just an article speculating a good fit.

Does that constitute a "rumor"?  I don't think it has reached that threshold, TB.

Agreed, definitely not a "rumor" based on that article.

There are several other websites posting the same

Not sure if they are piggybacking... or someone from the inside is throwing a bone (drive up price?)

On the surface. It would be a trade that makes sense for both teams

It seems like a gross overpay by Golden State. If I'm giving up Wiggins, Wiseman and the 7th pick, I would want the #4 pick included too with Siakam. To me, Wiggins for Siakam should be a push. I'd even make the argument that Wiggins is the better and more consistent player.

That #4 pick could draft Jalen Suggs, who could help form a dynamic backcourt with Curry, as Thompson's return seems so uncertain. Suggs is legit, and the best player I saw in college basketball last season.

Yes a pretty fair trade. I wasn't believing, but if Thompson is finally healthy and make a Durant like come back, they could be again in the competition, espwith LBJ aging, Clippers not matching and east being more open... I would be happy for them. For the Raptors they could already have a 5 promising young core, but still almost tanking for one year or two with VV 27- Trent 22 _ OG 23 - Sengun 19 _ Wiseman 20 (or pick Moody to make a future deadly 3 point trio with VV and Trent). Nice trade, much more logical than the one proposed with our team. I really think we will just trade Thompson and go with the TPE remains + MLE with or without Fournier resigning.

GS would be really selling its future for the present.  I suppose they have to do something like that, but is Siakam the guy that is going to put them over the top.  I'm not so sure.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

I am hideously bad at analyzing trades, but when I saw this one it made sense to me.  I suppose it depends on ones assessment of Siakam.  When teamed with Leonard, Siakam was very effective -- all-star caliber player.   With GS I think he'd have a chance to be 3rd fiddle which likely is a where he could be most effective.  Good gamble for GS that they'd be contenders for 2-3 years.   Great move by Toronto.

Again with a 2018 Klay probably yes, especially how the west look open right now. Siakam seems also complementary to Klay and Curry (who probably would have long tooth next year) and showed his ability to be a performing second option in a title, when being apparently not that complementary with Kawhi. Yes they have to do something like that, if not they have to home run with their 7, not being a first round PO team exit during the end of the Splash and still probably a first round exit team after that, when Wiseman and 7 grow... Better go All In and tanking after.

I imagine GM Brad has been kicking the tires on Siakam. He fits the mold of athletic two way forward that the FO has been looking for to go with the Jays

Wiggins, wiseman, and the #7 seems like an over pay for Siakam. Maybe replace #7 with #14?

Overall it makes some sense for both teams.

I could also see the Raptors just taking Suggs or Green at #4, getting a large TPE by doing a Lowry S&T, and rolling with that team.

For the Cs I wonder if Toronto becomes a place to move Thompson salary? Thompson for Baynes (non guaranteed),  #46, and a future 2nd?

Vanvleet
Suggs
OG
Siakam
Thomspon

with Trent as a 6th man looks like a solid playoff team
Mavs
Wiz
Hornet

Overpay for GSW. Great deal for Raptors.

Siakam is not a great fit for GSW. He is better as a PF than a SF where Draymond is in his way.

Horford + Thompson + G.Williams or Langford + Edwards + 2022 1st
for Siakam + Baynes?
