Actually it's a good time to trade him, while he has some trade value and before he gets hurt again.

We as fans are not privy to actual injury reports. We have no idea what trainers and doctors report. I can remember a time when people were calling for the Celtic's to give IT a max deal.

Seems like a mistake to me....look how many years Brook Lopez missed, Embiid missed...

when guys are this young, especially big guys, they get hurt a lot....

Let's see what he's got this year before bailing.  He can be excellent for the C's.

Would have to see the return, which for me would have to be a mid round first...
stilll a gamble, but maybe an okay one around pick 15-17...

The guy is untrustworthy and is a walking injury. Cs should sell high on this guy. Has all the talent in the world but he just can’t stay healthy.

Same things were said about Embiid

I really believe Moses will have a better career than TimeLord.. I just don’t see him improving much
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark

Love Timelord, but of course I'm concerned with the injuries.

The difference between Williams and Embiid or Lopez is that Williams is much more reliant on his athleticism. So it's not just availability like with some other big men. How many injuries can he endure without losing his effectiveness? He has had some back issues. Look at a guy like Dwight Howard, who relied on athleticism, before and after back issues. The differences are stark.

So of course any Timelord trade depends on what you're getting back. If he's healthy, I'm really optimistic about his career and specifically his fit with the Celtics. He needs to continue to grow his skills (copy Al Horford) to ensure value. He's already a good passer. He needs to improve his shooting range and comfort. Maybe we'll see that this year.

Why?

Rob Williams is infinitely better basketball player.  Instinctively, athletically, etc.  He has great feel.  Brown has zero feel. He is a very long term project to become a possible back up center.  I mean it is night and day.

Wow... I really hope it is an unfounded rumor (what it is very probable to be : a non sourced post based on an unkown tweet). But it makes talk... So : no way !!

Timelord has been each season hurt. Yes. He is on his final year of his contract and we may be loose him for nothin next year and even if we want to pay him, it may be a problem on signing a max in 2022 or 2023.

BUT : he is an athletic freak, he did things I never saw anyone else do. He is probably the best blocker of the league, has a big room to progress in finishing and is a terrible passer (totally unlike Brown). He is also quiet switchable for a 5.
There is real chance he is a big stud that we can pay not that much because of his past injury. There is chance he can be a good role player that we can pay 10-15 M. There is chance he is injured again and we don't sign him... But even if he is injured again, we get what this year a 20's first ??? To loose a freak who may be a perfect 5 in our team ?? CBS didn't value the 16 pick as we saw... So if he doesn't value Timelord more than a 25 picks I would be really sad.

“I was really impressed this year with Rob and his growth and his progress,” Horford said. “I don’t know if I would say that I really took him under my wing, but I tried to help him the best way that I could. Seeing him grow, seeing him do some of the things that he’s able to do when he’s starting to understand the game and how it’s coming together for him, it’s huge. It’s been very refreshing to see his progression, and he’s going to continue to get better.”

I follow a lot of NBA rumor happy people and haven’t seen any R-Will chatter but I would welcome the right trade. With his injury history and pending contract flipping him for a starting caliber 3/4 would make a lot of sense. A center rotation of Al/Thompson/Moses/ Grant would be perfectly fine.

I wish I had grabbed a screenshot over the weekend, but I saw a tweet that said RWill was going to be traded, possibly by the draft.

Anyone else see it, it was not from someone I follow, it was retweeted by a reputable source, that's how I saw it.
What reputable source retweeted it?

I assume you meant terrific passer not terrible passer.  Timelord will be a restricted free agent so we'll be able to match any contract offer.  Restricted free agents generally don't get much interest from other teams.  However I'd try to extend Timelord now.  Give him a good contract offer but with incentives based on performance and availability.  If there is any specific health issue with significant concern, they could include salary reduction wording for it like the Sixers did with Embiid.

Yes sorry terrible in french can have a positiv sense (there isn't terrific as a word). For the rest I agree with you :if he can accept a 30M 3Y or a little moore right now, it could be a home run or if it turns bad a contract not that hard to moove before 2023 FA.

I'm ready to move on from Timelord. It's not just that he's injury prone. He's also a bad fit in our defensive system. The C's are built around two versatile (s)wings in Tatum and Brown. We wanna maximize their effectiveness on both sides of the ball, hence we run a switch-heavy defensive scheme. The way our PnR defense usually works, our Center meets the opposing ball handler at the level of dribble hand off and denies penetration. Problem is, Timelord ain't got the lateral quicks to play D on the perimeter, hence he drops back and protects the rim. Long story short, whenever Timelord is on the court we have to change our defensive system. Imo, we'd be better off with a switchable Center in the mold of Theis/prime Horford.

Infinitely?

Brown was a five star recruit coming out of high school, recruited by many of the top programs, where he finally chose UCLA.  He was a McDonalds All-American and was MVP of the Ballislife All-American Game.  None of that is on RWills resume!

Moses averaged 9.7PPG and 8.3RPG as a Freshman, then declared for the draft (probably a mistake).

I would not say Infinitely, I wouldn't even say better, I think it could be a push!
