I think we need a true tall point guard to go with Jays and TL.

I think Lonzo Ball might fit well and work well under the new coach

But ,  I m not sure what people or what would be required to move other peoples.

Just a thought that keeps churning though my mind.

Totally agree with Lonzo as the PG. Pass-first, good defender with height and can hit the 3.

I'm not on twitter but I heard WOJ said the Cavs are shopping Sexton. Classic Cleveland move.

It could just be to float an offer for Ben Simmons around Sexton, but if he is truly available, he seems like a classic opportunity to buy low from a dumb organization. Dude plays hard. He may not be the perfect fit, but if the cost was low, you have to go get him.

There's been reports that Sexton's teammates don't like playing with him because he's a ballhog. Now that Cleveland knows they're picking 3, the can land one of the Jalens and get bigger and more dynamic in the backcourt.

I don't think shopping Sexton is the worst idea, especially if you get good value back.

Like, I get it. Don't get me wrong. He is a little bit.

But who is he going to pass to? Cedi Osman -- so he can take a contest three a brick it? Okoro -- so he add to his brick house? Jarett Allen - so he can brick a hook shot?

I'm just saying that, if you look at the stats, they won more often when he shot more and shot well. That team desperately needed him to shoot, alot.

But sure, build around De'Angelo Russell 2.0 (Garland), Deandre Jordan 2.0 (Allen) and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist 2.0 (Okoro).

Sexton is somewhere between a Jordan Clarkson and Donovan Mitchell in his play style and effectiveness on the court, and he's going into the last year of his contact.

The Cavs don't want to pay both Allen and Sexton, especially while still being hamstrung by Love.  I've been proposing Sexton trades on here for a month because it is apparent Sexton could be on the move.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

I truly would not like Wiggins next to Jaylen & Tatum. Another high usage / shot taker / shot stealer wing next to them. A guy who looks for his and does not know how to play team ball. A guy who has little impact when he is not putting the ball in the net.

Jaylen and Tatum are not well rounded enough to incorporate such a flawed player next to them. It will cause all sorts of chemistry problems. I do not want to see Wiggins here.

This is an indictment of Wiggins but also of Jaylen & Tatum.

You're suck in 2019. Wiggins was a shut down defender last year even got an All Defensive team vote and showed a nice spot up 3. He's over paid but looking like he found his grove as an elite 3 and d guy/3rd option.

He's intriguing for sure but I found this report troubling

Sexton has that appearance of a young Chauncey Billups in him. Not knowing when to shoot, when to pass. When to dribble and how much to dribble. But clearly very talented.

Chauncey was more of a combo guard early in his career too until Flip Saunders and more importantly Larry Brown helped him become a true PG and team leader. To become measured in his attack. Learn when & how to do what. To make the most of his talent. To be a team player.

Sexton reminds me of Chauncey in that way. A bigger PG. Strong outside shooting. Scoring ability. Sexton does not seem as athletic as Chauncey was defensively. But offensively, I see a lot of the same tools as young Chauncey.

I like the idea a lot, for the right price.

What trades have you suggested? What makes sense for both teams?

Well before Walker was traded it was Walker to NY, Love and Sexton to Boston, and some young players/draft picks to Cleveland.  That is obviously off the table.  While not a trade to Boston, I think some variation of Love, Sexton, 3 for Simmons, Maxey, Milton, 28, 2022 1st makes sense.

So for Boston to acquire Sexton it will be more difficult now (as trading Horford makes little sense), but almost certainly would require us to take on Love.  Something like this works financially: Love, Sexton for Smart, Thompson, Langford, G. Williams, Edwards.  Not sure if either team would do that, but it would certainly make Boston interesting next year and a healthy starting 5 of Sexton, Brown, Tatum, Love, and Horford has a lot of size and offensive firepower.  Bring back Fournier and you still have a nice 2 deep bench with Pritchard, Fournier, Nesmith, Parker, R. Williams

I like what someone else proposed:

TT and Smart to Charlotte for Rozier.

I think Rozier would be a phenomenal upgrade, and would fit right in to our team.  He has become a very efficient guard, and can defend quicker guards that Smart cannot.

Rozier
Brown
Fournier
Tatum
R Williams/A Horford

Yes please. If we’re going to remain steadfast with Tatum and Brown, I think the chemistry with Rozier at PG is superior to what Smart would bring. Smart and TT for Rozier, assuming Rozier signs a reasonable extension on-the-spot, would be great.

Even better: Fournier for Rozier, so we keep Smart (played well with Rozier). Move TT for a big role-player (too bad Jae Crowder will be unavailable).

Cs trade Tristen Thompson and Marcus Smart to the Magic for Mo Bamba and the 8th pick in the draft.

This draft is loaded. Maybe they’d do it if we threw in one or two first-round picks…

Dont need Bamba with TimeLord & Moses on board..plus Bamba hasn’t really done anything yet with Orlando
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin
