Suns/Lakers/Boston idea

in any case:

-Thompson to Lakers

-KCP, C. Edwards, J. Parker and pick 45 to Suns

-Saric, pick 29 to C's.


Trade balance based on Thompson being much better than Saric, who is averaging around 12 minutes it seems with Suns in these playoffs.  And KCP being an upgrade for Suns over Saric for next year.  Not the worst shift to go from pick 29 to pick 45.  C's no longer need Thompson.

The reason I guess Suns say no is they can sign a KCP type and keep their pick.  They'd have to really like KCP (they are low on quality SG's after Booker seems to me) to do it.  As surely neither Edwards nor Jabari are enticements.   

Is Saric just coming back from injury or is he really not that good anymore?

edit:  any way to add Ojeleye for Suns if he interests them?  Saric, while not an exciting get, probably plays Stevens type ball and could fill in for Horford in cases where Horford is dinged up (skill set wise while not as big as Horford or in Horford's league overall)..

Semi's a FA.  just don't resign him to get rid of him.

Wouldn't do this trade proposal.  only plus is dumping Edwards but that's not enough.  Saric isn't the league darling he was in Philly where some people here were clamoring to trade Brown for him.

in my imagination he decent on defense at PF for a 10-15 minutes per game, and moves the ball around fairly well.  Not sure if that equals reality.

I like Saric the best out of the players in that deal. His ball-handling skills, passing ability and shooting ability are difficult to acquire in a backup PF. His (very) poor defense stops him from being starter material which has been disappointment from him. But I like his offensive versatility and believe he is the most valuable & difficult to replace out of the 3 players.

Tristan Thompson is easy to replace - a low skill active big man. I am happy to move him on and replace him with a minimum contract big man.

KCP is a good defender and spot-up 3 point shooter but his limitations as a ball-handler and passer make him one-dimensional offensively and limit his value. His value will never be higher than it currently is on that LAL team next to LeBron James. You will get less out of him anywhere else. KCP has little value.

All 3 players are on the low end value wise and offer reasonably fair trade equivalents. I like Saric the most out of the 3 and would be happy to see him in Boston.
