Billups on ball movement/pace

Hire this man!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0TUudJk_sM

The key words mentioned several times..."a wide open." This second to "swing-swing." When he looks at the Celtics offense he must want to vomit.

I second Triboys request "hire this man"

Seriously

I hope Blazers or Magic dont hire him 1st

Last time Billups was employed by the Celtics, he raped a woman and was traded by the team weeks later so they didn’t have to deal with that problem.  In no way does this team need to have that brought back up.  In 2021, it may follow him to any job, but it will certainly follow him to Boston.  Find a different coach.

I don't want to make light of the situation...but it was never proven in court

Same thing happened to Avery Bradley

Nobody knows what really happened.  So leaving it at that

Well, Jason Kidd pleaded guilty to beating his wife and to DUI, and he's somehow still  under consideration by several teams.

Billups, Ron Mercer, and Antoine Walker all ultimately paid her.  Walker also sued Billups and Mercer regarding it.  There was medical evidence consistent with her accusations.

It was well-reported enough at the time, and it’s easy enough to find the stories about it on the internet.  And again, that story is going to follow him around Boston.  It’s red meat to a reporter, who will dig up all the records and maybe even get an interview with the victim.  It’s unavoidable.

Then explain....how was he an ESPN analyst or assistant coach now??

ESPN hires all sorts of people with questionable pasts, but they’re just on-air talent who can be muted if a problem comes up.  It’s not like he’s their one guy.  And being an assistant generally isn’t going to inspire a lot of outrage, and if it does, you can replace an assistant.

But being the brand new head coach of the team in the same city where you have this history?  You’re the face of the franchise, in front the media on a daily basis.  That’s just a different story, literally.  It’s going to attract a lot of attention here, and it’s not worth the risk on a guy who has one year as an assistant for a team that has, at best, simply met expectations.

Celtics assistant coach Jerome Allen interviewed for the team’s open head coaching position, but he reportedly has a back-up plan with the Pistons.

Per The Undefeated’s Marc Spears, Allen has been offered a “similar position” with the Pistons to the one he currently occupies in Boston. Allen interviewed for the Celtics’ head coaching position over the weekend.

So I guess Sam Cassel isn’t being considered?

I am surprised to see him talk to so many assistants. I wonder if he has enough guts to follow through and hire one of them or if he'll go instead with a safer more established or known to him option (as I expect).

I am hoping he'll take a risk. Go with someone like Chauncey or Cassell.

I think head coach in the NBA is the least important of any sports .I don't know how much coaching actually goes on anymore.
