What is all this that I hear on Felger and Mazz that Tatum loves Jay Larranaga and that he is now the betting favorite in Vegas?

lol......if you had a coach that did not hold you accountable, what would you want?

They better not hire him

Tatum needs to pushed. Not cuddled

Popovich is the ideal hire

I just think Kidd's record as a coach is that solid either.

Triboy who in the brass wanted Brad fired?

The only report out on that doesn't say who, it just says that Danny was against it.

I'm guessing it wasn't ownership because otherwise there's no chance they'd promote him to team president.

He got promoted because they are paying him $30K whether he works or not.  And he's a pretty smart guy, even though he has no GM experience.
Many think they wanted a new coach, and this was the most cost effective way of doing it. Stevens seemed to have had problems lately getting the team motivated.

Ainge said in the presser the current  GM staff is in place, and is a good one. Translated, that means the current staff will be kept.

I think there's a good chance Stevens will go back to college coaching when he gets a good offer.

If Brad had any interest in going back to college, he would've taken that indiana job.

He was the Celtics coach then.  He may have second thoughts as GM.

Doubt Pop is available, but he would be a good but expensive hire. They might not want to pay that much.

Anyone else have the sneaking suspicion that the best coach candidates will go elsewhere?  Too often, it just seems like this is the way things work out for C's.   :-[

The key words mentioned several times..."a wide open." This second to "swing-swing." When he looks at the Celtics offense he must want to vomit.

I second Triboys request "hire this man"

Celtics have the best situation from the coaching gigs available so they get to choose which coach they want. So long as they do not wait too long.

But that doesn't mean they will choose who you want them to choose.

First point expanded on -- Celtics are the best situation because of Tatum and Jaylen. Nobody else has two young stars like this to build around long term. Nobody else has more of a win-now or win-later team than Boston does.

Second point expanded on -- I still do not think CBS will hire an ex-player for a coach. He had little time for them as assistants. Seems like the type who values coaching experience over playing experience. Plus, I am concerned he is insecure & will not want someone who threatens his leadership position among the players / organization. This is why I am expecting an NCAA coach or an NBA head coach with previous experience. Not a first timer (unless it is one of his own assistants who he knows well). Not a former player (unless he has already proven himself as a head coach).

Last time Billups was employed by the Celtics, he raped a woman and was traded by the team weeks later so they didn’t have to deal with that problem.  In no way does this team need to have that brought back up.  In 2021, it may follow him to any job, but it will certainly follow him to Boston.  Find a different coach.

I don't want to make light of the situation...but it was never proven in court

Same thing happened to Avery Bradley

Nobody knows what really happened.  So leaving it at that
