What do the Celtics do next? We are in a pretty bad situation cap wise and the team has obviously regressed.

Hayward Trade Exception: $11,050,000
Theis Trade Exception: $5,000,000
Kanter Trade Exception: $4,767,000
Teague Trade Exception: $1,620,564
Poirier Trade Exception: $343,873
at a minimum, I'd hope they
- move Edwards and GWill.  free up 2 roster spots for better vet players.  Edwards has to go at a minimum
- cut Waters and Tacko. they'd need to be on the 15 man roster to keep them but they're not NBA players
- let Semi walk.  Free up the roster spot for a better vet player

next step up
- Really work up Parker and Kornet to see if either are worth keeping another year.  If not, cut them loose.  I suspect Kornet is not but TL is too fragile not to have a third center that can eat minutes in the regular season.
- Resign Fournier for reasonable money.  This may not be possible and they may need to overpay to keep him.  his performance in the playoffs and most of this season was very underwhelming.
- comb through the FA list this offseason for solid vets that can be had for those TPE and other exception slots.  Have to be able to do better than Teague this offseason.

Getting aggressive
- look to move Kemba, Smart and/or TT for a PG that can ball handle and run an offense better than Kemba and Smart and/or get a legit 4/5 that can score more efficiently around the basket than TT or better yet can make a shot from outside the paint.  Kemba and Smart as the starting backcourt isn't good enough to go far in the playoffs so we need something to change there.  if both end up staying, we need a better option at SG than Smart who needs to go back to the bench.
- look into moving TL for a good center that can stay healthy.  I think TL made the leap this year in terms of making an impact when he plays but the issue is he misses too many games to make an impact during the season and playoffs.
- If needed, move Romeo, Nesmith and/or Pritchard as part of a larger deal to get that third star.  Personally, I think these 3 can really be good rotation players for us next year but if they're needed to complete a deal for a real stud #3 player to go with Jayson and Jaylen, then they need to be on the table for a deal.
