For all the worshipping he gets on this board, please watch the last 5 minutes of this game and realize why the flaw he makes
No apparent effort to address is important.

There are still people comparing Tatum and Simmons?

They haven't been close for a long while.

Nowadays the comparison would be Embiid vs Tatum. Embiid wins that comp, but that's a closer discussion than Tatum vs Simmons.

Bang on! Simmons has regressed on both ends this season, is yet to improve his offensive game at all in his entire career, and will never be a #1 option in the league barring some miraculous change.

I don't think Simmons is superior to Brown, let alone Tatum

It's a bit astounding how much his offensive game has stagnated. His skills are nearly identical to when he played at LSU. At this point, I think his work ethic and/or attitude needs to be questioned.

It's crazy, he's not significantly different from his rookie season really. Shocking indictment on him, because we've seen a number of other young guys at Philly develop

Tatum (and Mitchell) was robbed of an MVP by Simmons that one year. Ridiculous.

I kinda think Simmons is built more like a Draymond-type super-roleplayer than a heliocentric star like Tatum or Embiid.  A glue guy, defender, facilitator, rebounder, but you don't want to put the scoring burden on him.  He has a lot of value, especially on the right team, but I don't see him as a top 15-20 player like Tatum, nor do I see him ever threatening for that status unless his game evolves.

I agree with this. But the crazy part is comparing how much Tatum
And brown have developed versus simmons on improving his skills. Simmons had a chance to close out this series and probably get some rest for an injured Embid. He couldn’t hit free throws or score and that really hurts their team. It matters in the playoffs which is what I always said. I wish we played them
Instead of nets. Would have lost anyways but would have been fun

Simmons is overrated, always has been, and always will be until he develops an outside shot, and don't hold your breath.

Come on now, I was reliably told by this board a week ago that Simmons is more deserving of All NBA than Tatum.

I like the Draymond Green comparison.  I think it is apt.  Simmons can do more than Green though but there are a lot of similarities.  For the past few seasons, both have averaged about 7 rebs and 7 assists but Simmons is more like 15 pts and Green is about half that.  Simmons draws more fouls (but lower FT%)

As to Simmons being in the Tatum tier of talent, this is just silly.  I don't recall seeing people making this comparison but others seem to be recalling this.  I think the value comparison is closer to Kemba (healthy) to Simmons (who has had health issues also).  Simmons had a better and healthier season this season than Kemba but I still think this could be a swap that both teams would benefit from.  PHI would benefit from Kemba's shooting and playmaking alongside Embiid.  Boston could use a Draymond Green-type that Simmons could be alongside Tatum and Brown.  Simmons and the Sixers overall had good seasons and Kemba had more health issues so I don't see this at this point, but I still like it.

When rumors of Philly possibly trading Simmons last year surfaced, Doc Rivers shot them down immediately saying he wanted a full year with Embiid and Simmons to see what he had in the two stars.

I can't help but wonder if Doc sees Simmons limitations and lack of development as a reason to tell Morey to move on from Ben and trade him for a different star to team with Embiid.

I agree with the general premise or logic but who would be that "best fit" next to Embiid and Harris.  Kyle Lowry certainly, a PG who is score first but not a bad facilitator probably over Walker, even injuries aside, but I see Kemba as a good fit.

And what teams would be the best fit for Simmons?  I think the Celtics are a really good fit for Simmons.  I am not sure there would be a ton of teams lining up to trade for Simmons.  He is a talent but kind of a quirky skill set that isn't easy to fit.  I would love him as point PF on this team.  Let him bring the ball up the court, get things set up for Brown and Tatum.  And then he can defend the opposing PF so Tatum doesn't have to.

Kemba being hurt again for the playoffs, even if it isn't exactly the same injury as his chronic knee problem, is going to cause any team considering Kemba to pause.  That is unfortunate for us.  But Simmons has had his share of injuries.  He has been healthy this year so recency bias plays.
