Would Detroit nite on this trade:

Marcus Smart/Romeo Langford/Grant Williams

For Jerami Grant

I have always been fond of this kids play and think he and RWIII would make for an awesome front court tandem.

Kemba Walker
Jaylen Brown
Jayson Tatum
Jerami Grant
Robert Williams III

Pretty bad a$$ starting five.

That would provide a new name for the Js, J cubed.

Great trade for the C’s, talent-wise. Adds length, shooting, and shot selection. I assume it works, salary-wise too. But I think on top of personnel changes, CBS also needs to alter the team’s offensive approach to maximize the talents he has. Just because JT and JB can do everything doesn’t mean they should.

As for Detroit, I don’t know why they do this trade. Maybe for picks?

Maybe we keep Romeo Langford and unload some picks in that package

They get some salary space as Smart's contract is a year shorter and $6m less roughly, as well as a couple of prospects. They'd probably prefer a 1st rounder go Romeo, but I feel like they wouldn't be entirely opposed to it.

I'd hang up the phone immediately if Detroit offered this, much less make such a trade proposal to Detroit

One thing we need for sure is an alpha, preferably with swagger.  For starters, we need to get meaner.

Perhaps Jeremy can help in that department, perhaps not.

I think that trade idea would work for me.  I think Nessie is better than Romeo anyways and so it would be good for the kid to go somewhere else.  I like Smart, but it feels like for every good play he does, the takes it back later in the game.

Ironically the thing we'd probably miss the most about Smart is his playmaking.   He is better than Kemba at it.

as for Kemba, I think he should come off the bench...with a very big GREEN LIGHT.

Next Year the C's are deep into the tax if they sign Evan, so they probably wanna dump money in a trade, also I think Grant should get a similar return to Aaron Gordon, which was vets + prospect + pick.

I think it would be smart+thompson+langford+21 first-rounder

another version could be kemba+langford+21 first-round pick for grant+joseph,

but doubt the pistons take that deal, the c's would be able to get off a ton of money as joseph has a team option for next year, they would have to execute the trade before the beginning of the next season to in this case to not excersie the team option.
