Kemba is such a defensive liability and Marcus such an offensive liability, I think it’s abundantly clear that we need to move them this off-season in order to improve our system/play. This thread is a sandbox for any and all ideas involving moving Kemba and Marcus in order to field a better team in the Fall. Let’s hear the ideas!

I'll preface this by saying I fully expect both of these guys to be on our team next year. I think Ainge will probably make minor adjustments (draft pick, veteran signings, retaining Fournier) and want to see how this team goes healthy and vaccinated.

But here are my two ideal trades involving the two.

Kemba trade: https://tradenba.com/trades/QSz65QO-1

Boston trades: Kemba Walker, 2022 lottery protected 1st round pick

Chicago trades: Thad Young, Tomas Satoransky, Al-Farouq Aminu, 2022 2nd round pick

Marcus trade: https://tradenba.com/trades/qp8exsW-3

Boston trades: Marcus Smart, 2022 2nd round pick

Phoenix trades: Dario Saric, Jevon Carter

I'd then try and move Thompson straight up for Aron Baynes and a future 2nd rounder.

Team would then be:
Tomas Satoransky - Payton Pritchard - Jevon Carter
Jaylen Brown - Romeo Langford - Carsen Edwards
Evan Fournier - Aaron Nesmith - Franz Wagner / Jalen Johnson (1st pick)
Jayson Tatum - Thad Young - Grant Williams
Rob Williams - Dario Saric - Aron Baynes

If I could force a team to do any trade I'd move Smart + Thompson + whatever picks for Valanciunas + Melton.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

That is a bad Marcus trade idea

Dont even need to add a pick

The Kemba trade looks decent. A future 1st would be minimum

Kemba and Langford to any team that's willing to take on his salary. You'll likely get a bad contract back but that's how you get Kemba off the team.

I am a pretty big fan of Saric and have totally fallen out of love with Smart, so that's fair, I could totally be undervaluing him. I just think Saric would provide that high-post playmaking big who can shoot and dribble, and Brad loves those kinds of guys.

Jevon Carter is also one of my old draft binkies, and plays awesome PG defence

After watching these last two heartless, soft performances and you want to trade one of our only guys that consistently plays with heart?

This team is softer than tissue paper even with Smart; how soft will they be without him?

Kevin Love makes sense except I think our media would have him crying in the fetal position after a couple months

Kemba + #16 + two seconds for Horford + #18

Keep Smart

===================================

Kemba + Smart + #16 for Wiggins + Wiseman

===================================

Neither is particularly realistic.

Am I completely crazy? ( the fact that I'm asking means yes)

Gets them off Westbrook....

There's something here, maybe someone else can make a similar trade work between them and us.

Interesting that this works though.

I think Smart has shot his way out of town...Unless we get a coach with more discipline. No way he should shoot more than 10 shots a game.
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.
