As good as Giannis is, his limitations with his shooting and particularly his free throw shooting are pretty significant. Was lucky that the Suns choked down the stretch there and didn't make him pay for his missed free throws.
He's basically Shaq reincarnated. Better passer but less of a physical force, both have similar gaping weaknesses at the free throw line and get away with a tonne of offensive fouls :D

I honestly think Giannis can be a better FT shooter than he is showing right now.  Shaq had terrible form on his fts, he basically shot a line drive, with no arc on the shot, and no margin for error at all.

Giannis has generally good form on his ft shots, but it has become a mental thing for him.  I think Giannis can recover to be a 70% + ft shooter.

bravo to the Bucks for holding on.  They missed some fts down the stretch and looked really tired (esp Middleton and Giannis) but they pulled out a huge road win.

Hard to see them losing game 6 at home.  Fans in Milwaukee are going to be going nuts.

Giannis' form also degenerated a fair bit with his muscle growth. Was hovering around 75% a lot before he became an MVP-level player

When people say that the *Suns* choked down the stretch, what do they mean?

They cut an 8 or 9 point lead down to one possession.  They lost, but it wasn’t due to choking in the 4th.

These Finals have been great so far. Exciting games and a high level of basketball on both ends of the floor.

Really exciting to watch, especially with all the refreshing faces. No LeBron, Durant or Curry for the first time in forever

Yeah, that was nowhere near a choke job. The Bucks made some great defensive plays  down the stretch and hit some huge shots. The Suns showed great composure in the last 5 minutes making that comeback. Paul was huge.

If Bucks win next game, Giannis’ resume by the age of 26 will be bonkers. MVPs, DPOY, likely finals MVP, all nba teams, champion.

And he hasn't even peaked yet. If he manages to improve his outside shot and/or FT shooting, that resume is going to get very, very long.

We now have 3 40 point games in losing efforts in the finals, with 2 more from the winner.  Lots of elite scoring going on this series.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Is he though? Here is a look at Giannis and Lebron, both at age 26.

Except for some slightly poorer shooting, their stats are extremely similar, as is their bullrushing the lane and using their otherworldly athleticism to create for themselves and each other. Both were equally excellent defensively and could guard 1 thru 5. To me, Giannis ha always been more Lebron lite than Shaq lite

I don't see anything 'lite' about a Giannis-LeBron comparison. Giannis is the better rebounder and better interior defender and scored significantly more per minute. He has less range than LeBron too, hence the solid difference in 3 point shooting. I also believe LeBron was also a much better passer - second best passing forward of all time for mine. He hadn't fully developed into point LeBron at 26, but even then think he was a better passer

Maybe Giannis = Dr J in the ABA? With poorer free throw shooting, naturally

Crazy box score for this one.  Hard to imagine a team shooting nearly 70% from three and losing in today’s NBA, but here we are.
