Fun stuff. If you look at the stats of Lebron and Giannis at each of their age 26 year old seasons, how very similar they are.

Hate to say it but this may be Giannis best chance of winning a championship.. Middleton & Lopez are getting older plus top free agents are probably not coming to Milwaukee to live in the winter time
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

The ref's explanation for not fouling Booker out:

Quote
“During live play, I saw a clean sweep of the ball and thought it was a no call,” referee James Capers said. “However, after seeing the replay, I now realize that I missed Booker’s right arm around the waist of Holiday, and it should have been a defensive foul on the play.”

Lol.  I can understand an amateur ref in a rec league missing something that blatant, maybe.  An NBA ref in the Finals, though?  Lol.
Especially when there's 3 of them

All ball.  Lol.
There was one more blatant no-call on Booker a bit later than this one.

I think we all choose to overlook the elephant in the room. Here's a genuine question: Do you think the NBA is rigged? Cause that's the only logical inference based on your first post.

Personally speaking, I believe plenty of games are rigged. Can't prove it obviously. I believe the lottery is rigged as well. In my mind, there's no doubt about that. I also think the NBA allows its star players to get off the hook with PED use. The whole situation bothers me a lot, but at the end of the day I still watch the games. I genuinely don't want to care anymore, but for some stupid reason I do. Go figure.

Booker was pretty much on point in game 4. If any sort of fix was in, it was to help keep the Bucks in the series. One way to try to cool off a player is to get him in foul trouble and take away his aggression. Booker and Crowder each had  fouls, while Holiday and Middleton each played 43 minutes and only had one foul each. As far as the call in question, I was shocked Booker even attempted to play any sort of defense there, but seemingly got all ball on the block. Booker's right hand didn't do enough in my opinion to warrant a foul call.

Also, I mentioned here as soon as it happened. The refs missed a blatant dribbling violation on Holiday on the fast break, after the Chris Paul crossover turnover with under a minute left in the game.

I disagree with that call.  That was as clear a foul as you will ever see.  That said, they missed plenty of calls the other way as well including the pretty obvious one where Giannis didn't lift his foot up on the in bound.

Given there were terrible calls both ways, it is hard to say it was rigged.  The refs just weren't very good.  That said, I did like that they seemed to let them play a bit more down the stretch.  Made the end of the game much more enjoyable to watch.

Rigged? No, that's too strong. that implies they will do what it takes to achieve a specific scoring outcome.

I do think refs swallow their whistle in certain situations, such as here where a star player is on verge of fouling out.

Not even kidding, it feels like these Finals have lasted a full month yet they've played a total of 4 games LOL

True.   I think this added time will have an impact on the finalists next season.  Training camp starts about 2 months from game 7.

Also, the NBA playoffs this season had a rhythm to it and really pulled me in this year (I usually lose interest once the C's are out).  The Finals has faded into the background with the sudden lengthening of time between games.

Yeah.  I get why they do it, but I wish they had just done the games on Saturday and Monday. But, ratings are king.  Plus, remembering back to when we were in the finals, the games were sometimes pretty grueling. I’m sure the fan bases enjoy giving their teams an extra night of rest.

I know people are constantly comparing Booker to Kobe Bryant because it seems similar to Jordan in the early 00’s that any athletic guard was the next Mike, but for me Devin Booker really reminds me of a young Ray Allen.

Does anyone else see that or is it just me?

Even ignoring the full body mugging, that’s not “all ball”.

I don't know how anyone cannot like Giannis.  This should be mandatory watching for little league from now till the end of time.

Edit: Heck maybe this should just be played in elementary school.  Great lesson for everyone.

I've been lucky enough to meet this man 6 or 7 times, the first couple times were without any introductions from other players, granted the next few times he knew I had some level of connection with players.

he was a wonderful person to The Nobody I am even currently, and especially was when we first met.

This is further testament to why I love this man for the game and for the kids, what an example!

thank you, TP for sharing
