Jimmy Butler in this playoff series against Milwaukee:

14.5PPG, 7.5RPG, 7APG, 29.6% from the field, 26.7% from 3. Imagine how posters would be if Tatum or Brown put up such a stinker of a series...
I mean if we were up against a meatgrinder like the Bucks I wouldn't be too upset.

Ja will eventually need to learn to defend somebody.  Dude is a sieve.  Gets bullied by bigger players, dies on screens, can't stay in front of quick players.  Trae Young gets criticized for his defense, but Ja doesn't really catch that heat despite being comparably ineffective.  I think he should.

Hot take: Conley might be the second-best player on the Jazz behind Gobert.

A lot of advanced stats absolutely love Conley but are a lot more mild in their praise of Mitchell.

I do think Mitchell is a player they NEED - sometimes you need a guy who can just go iso up a bucket, and he's good at it.  But I don't think it's a stretch to say that Gobert and Conley are their most impactful players overall.

I mean they also NEED guys like Gobert and Conley - the Jazz are still very reliant on their defence stifling opposing teams to win games while Conley gives them another very good creator and shot-maker (he had an excellent game tonight that will probably be dismissed because Mitchell had a few big shots to close out game 3).

Mitchell gives them that extra offensive punch to really compete with the big boys, but the Jazz don't even come close to touching the elite without Gobert and/or Conley.

Of course.  I was agreeing with you.

The only reason I emphasized that they need Mitchell is because leaving him out of the Jazz's top two could otherwise be considered disrespect.  It's not intended to be; he's still an important piece for them.  But Gobert and Conley are their best players.

The Hawks have too many weapons for the Knicks to compete with. Randle seems really overwhelmed by the playoffs.
