I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

The funny thing is that the eternal optimists will never admit defeat, even if the sky and the roof and everything else is crashing down around them. The Celtics could lose out the season, including their play-in games, bringing all of the optimists' positivity about this season to a screeching halt, and the optimists would just ignore the fact that their predictions had failed, ignore the fact that the pessimists were right, and just say, "I'm sure they'll be much healthier and luckier next season"—even the Cs haven't had a really healthy season since the '07-'08 title campaign.
There are two kinds of people: those who say to God, 'Thy will be done,' and those to whom God says, 'All right, then, have it your way.'

You don't have a soul. You are a Soul. You have a body.

"Eternal optimists". Right.

Very black-and-white view of life.

Here's what Mr Kardashian had to say after playing his first game back in Cleveland after being traded to the Celtics. He thinks the team is too nice to each other.

Quote
Tristan Thompson, the only Celtic in the room with a championship ring, believes that it’s time for this congenial locker room to finally develop an edge.

“I think the great thing is this team has a bunch of great human beings and everyone’s character check marks all the boxes you want on your team. We’re all very close off the court,” he said. “On the court we just have to turn it up a notch. We have to keep holding each other accountable and push some buttons. It’s going to come from within our team. We can’t expect it from anywhere else.

“Guys understand it’s pretty simple right now,” said Thompson. “We have the play-in tournament and however the thing is structured we have to win a game and all that other (expletive) they have going on. We have to understand, this is for all the marbles and there’s no re-do’s. We can’t get the season back. Whatever is in front of us we have to attack and know what’s at stake. You’ve gotta have that win-or-go home mentality.”

“It’s definitely frustrating,” Thompson said of his longtime Cleveland teammate [Kevin Love]. “K-Love coming tonight, coach mentioned 70% of his shots are 3s. Guys guarding him have to know that if we’re switching one through four, guys have to have their antennas up and know that K-Love is not posting up as much on the left block as he used to, so he’s catching up top, dribble hand-offs or pick-and-pops.

“There’s a lot of times we weren’t switching or guys weren’t sure,” he said. “I always say communication clears up a lot of holes in your defense, and if we’re not talking out there, especially in those one-four pick-and-rolls and two-four pick-and-rolls, it’s going to be tough with a guy like him. He’s a rhythm player, and if he gets going early, he’s going to have a great night. If you make it tough for him early it puts you in better position. He’s a Hall of Fame player, so you’ve gotta make it tougher for him at the beginning of the game and make him play at both ends.”

Thompson created some minor waves earlier this season when he dismissed the notion that the regular season is important — that playoff teams like the old group he was a part of with LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Love in Cleveland simply used the regular season to warm up for the postseason.

Based on recent history, these Celtics don’t know how to warm up.

“This season has been, like Coach (Brad) Stevens said, a bunch of curveballs. Injury bug has definitely hit us and has hit us hard,” said Thompson. “So when I made that quote, I was referring to a full, healthy team.

“But at the end of the day, it has to be next-man-up mentality. Of course, we’re missing a big part of our team, which is Jaylen. Obviously with Kemba not playing, not Smart or Rob, definitely tough out there. But still, there’s no excuse for us not to come out and compete for 48 minutes. So with that play-in coming, hopefully we’ll get some more guys back in the lineup and use these next two games against Minnesota and a hard-playing Knicks team to get us ready for that play-in situation.”

Maybe Kardashian is right. Maybe they're too nice to each other. Maybe we need more people yelling at others when they miss defensive assignments or take bad shot options.

There is definitely zero accountability n this team. Which results in zero trust.

Interesting that when these same words were typed here months ago some ‘experts’ demurred. Oh well maybe it is time to admit that this bunch of boy scouts just will not cut it.
