Who’s your max, max for Kemba?

No it wasn’t a stutter, I was interested to hear people’s opinions on if you could swap out Kemba (max salary) for any NBA player, who would give us the maximum level of wins?

So to be clear it would be the exact same team, just swapping out Kemba Walker. So it could be any position obviously but then if you were to hypothetically select Embiid you’ve got to remember you would lose your point guard, perhaps some team creativity and how it would affect Tatum & Brown’s games.

Not your fault at all, but I think we need more realistic guidelines. Adding any of the best players in the league would obviously make us a serious contender...a lead contender. I have been one of the biggest supporters of Kemba on this site, but I'm not sure all of our picks attached to him brings us a superstar. Although, Houston just took back Olynyk, Bradley, Exum, Kurucs, and picks for Harden - so what do I know?

If I could pick anyone I would take Giannis, even though my fave is Jokic. 

Imagine a lineup with Giannis, Tatum, Brown, Smart, and Rob Williams.  How do you stop it?  How do you score on it?

No what he described was right, the discussion is who would give us the most wins. Even though Jokic is elite, we don’t live in a NBA2K world, you’ve got to factor in personality, defensive ability, how will they go fitting in with the rest of the team? Can they function within Stevens scheme? Will they want to control the ball? If so how will it affect Tatum’s game?

Luka is someone I think would have trouble functioning with Tatum in the same offence and I think Tatum would be disgruntled because of a lack of touches (look at Porzingis).

It sounds funny but for this season, I actually think if you swapped out Kemba Walker for Chris Paul, I think he’d give us the highest win improvement. Paul is at the right age not to be obsessed with ‘getting his’, Brown and Tatum would respect him and his opinion. Paul’s playmaking is something this team is in dire need of and he’d bring a calm, mental toughness.

I acknowledged what you meant in my comment. No reason to limit it to Kemba, though, when you can also get there with Smart, Thompson, and Romeo (for instance). Trading Kemba for one of the top 3-4 players in the NBA is just as unrealistic as trying to trade those 3. As you mentioned, if I wanted Embiid, then we would be screwed because we wouldn't have a PG.

Anyway, Luka or Jokic are the correct answers. And I guess I would settle for Giannis if I had to.

I didn't think this was a realistic trade idea. Just who you would take. I'm not sure how tradable Kemba is right now.

That’s a good one! Steph doesn’t need the ball, stretches the floor, great passer and perhaps with a reduced offensive load for Tatum & Brown they elevate their defensive input.
