What’d he say?

He said Celtics had a problem with Kyrie but now Kyrie is gone but there seems to be something always wrong with the team, and then suggested that maybe Brad should be scrutinized (my words)..

Later he went on to say they play to much ISO ball...that they lead the league in ISO ball..no fluidity in offense.

Jaylen Rose was also harsh in his criticism ...no production at the 5 spot...lead the league in falling behind by 10 points...always start slow..and have fallen into the bottom tier while sixers bucks are riding high.

I wonder what the team would look like if Ainge had saddled up and parted with one of his precious, precious draft picks and gotten Vucevic. He is EXACTLY what the Celtics need - he plays strong position defense and protects the paint (notice how Tatum got nothing at the rim tonight), is a willing passer and a knockdown shooter. If we had him instead of Kemba I think we'd be up at the top of the Eastern conference. But instead we get to watch Tristan 'Mittens' Thompson fumbling passes and throwing up flat hook shots. Ugh.

Didn't they reportedly want Timelord and more for Vucevic? 

Let's not forget that Jaylen and Timelord didn't play tonight. This team has had a different set of guys every night and guys at different stages of returning from injuries all season.

Vucevic is a poor defensive center. Van Gundy repeatedly referred to him as a great offensive player tonight several times for a reason.

I was not optimistic going into tonight without 2 of our starters.

At least Kemba played well but ran out of gas. Jayson had an off night. I wish he didn’t settle for so many 3s.

Fournier had good first half.

I’m gonna stay upbeat. Anyone can win in the playoffs. If we get healthy I think we can win a few.

The thing that makes this loss even worse, is the game on Sunday is at 1:00. This Celtics team this season is beyond awful in day games. I give them upwards of a 5% chance on winning.

The upcoming Miami game is their biggest game of the season. The team has been up and down the whole year but how they perform vs Miami would be a good gauge of how deep they could go in the playoffs. This is a must win game in a playoff type atmosphere. I wanna see JT carry this team and get one over Bam.

I agree wholeheartedly.

Our PG and C positions are where we play inneficiently (except TL). On offense their 2FG% and 3FG% are low, and their defense is not as good as it used to be. TT is a bad center shooting in the paint. Kemba is a liability on defense and an inefficient volume shooter. Smart has a horrific 3pt shoots but acts like he was Curry..

We need to have better players to man our PG and C position.

Chicago has a losing record since acquiring Vucevic. If the price was Timelord and one or two first round picks, I would not make that deal.

I was going to reply to your post in the Orlando thread about how the Cs shot 47% from 3...this team literally lives and dies by the 3. If they shoot less than 30% from 3 I think they've only won one game and lost all of them. I'm waiting for basketball-reference to update this game so I can export this season's game logs to Excel to confirm but last season they won 5 of the 14 games they played where they shot below 30%. And that number excludes the playoffs, where we won the decider vs Toronto despite shooting 9-38 from 3 or 23%. This year they've forgotten how to win ugly. If they miss shots their defense falters and they let the other team shoot well from 3, in this case Chicago shooting 45%. That's terrible defense.

if this is how being a fan has affected you, you might want to step away from the celtics for just a bit.

It’s ok to be annoyed and critical of a team. This team is incredibly underachieving and it’s hard to watch these games sometimes because you know they are capable of better. Maybe they just aren’t capable of being better I guess. Doesn’t make it any less frustrating watching them in your leisure time.

I found that moderating my expectations of them helps...I'm not expecting much so whatever they achieve is a bonus
