and How's that NOT an and ONE on JT's last hoop...????

Refs SUCKED

That was a heck of an inbounds play by Stevens though coming out of the time-out.

So was the lob to Rob Williams earlier even though that one didn't work out.

Kinda amusing that Stevens' most scathing critique of his team all year came after a win.  Can only imagine what was said in that locker room at halftime, and probably after the game as well.
It's the only one we have heard of. My guess is maybe Brad gets a bit more heated behind closed doors.

Yeah, I was specifically referring to his media comments.

My understanding is that Stevens is a bit of an old school hardass when the cameras aren't on him.  It's one reason I've never bought into the "Brad is soft; he doesn't stand up to his players" narrative that circulates here from time to time.  There are some legitimate reasons to be critical of Stevens this year, but I just don't believe that's one of them.
Ah, yeah, publicly this one is harsh.

Have another TP when I can give them out again. I think I'll go back and give everyone another in the morning

Missed the game, this one will be fun to watch on DVR at least  :police:

They deserved the criticism...letting a lottery team hang 77 on them. Great comeback but shouldn't have been in that position to begin with. But a win under those circumstances builds resilience and confidence and this team needs that more than anything.

As for the criticism, it's funny how fans judge a coach's behavior based on the 2 hours they see him in a game. We don't see Brad in training, or when he's interacting with the team before the game and after the game. But we judge him based on the 2 hours or based on what he says in post game comments when most coaches don't want to throw their players under the bus. It's because fans want their coach to feel like he's as mad as they are so they want him to yell at the team the way they probably would like to yell at the team, Bobby Knight or Tom Izzo style. I personally don't think that's an effective form of managing professional players but everyone to their own. As a coach you're managing relationships and personalities over the course of a long season, unlike most fans who spend their 2 hrs sitting on the couch yelling at the TV then you forget about it till the next game. I'm sure Brad gets stuck into them, in the privacy of the dressing room, just not in public.

I suggest you fast forward to the second half when you watch the game. That first half was brutal.

and did no one see Derozan HOP on his right foot, switch to his left foot, then the refs called a foul on Smart?---should have been 2 Jump Balls on the same play....reeediculous reffing tonight.

You watch when they got focused defensively like they did in the 2nd half and you can’t help but wonder about that focus & how it could translate in the playoffs. They’re oozing potential when they decide to lock it in.

That’s the tease for the playoffs.  You see what’s possible. Just no idea if it’ll come out.

Read the game article on ESPN and Deuce got a mention for being given the game ball from his dad. Deuce got skills. Can we sign him now? The 2037-38 season is right around the corner

Wow, I just saw that Tatum dropped 60 tonight and 53 a few weeks ago.

I don't visit often, but it always seems like doom and gloom with the Celts.  We've still got a super talented and young team.  I hope we can resign Smart next year and keep that core with Tatum and Brown.

I never thought that his man management was a problem - every coach manages personalities differently and every style can work, whether if you're quiet in front of the cameras like Stevens or outspoken like Mourinho.

That should have been an and 1 in all honesty and he would have broke the record if the refs had their act together.

Refs are not calling it both ways when they know one coach is docile while the other will light them up.
One of the more ridiculous things I have read in a game thread, and we are talking about the game threads

lol....keep ignoring facts

Youre the one doing that. refs have been calling the games inconsistently, regardless of who the coach is. Remember when we had doc? Did it stop the refs? no it did not

I loved watching Doc coach on the Celtics ,  he was so animated....I thought he was going to have a heart attack or pop a blood vessel in his forehead sometimes .   Throw in KG and it was dangerous place to be when things weren’t going right .

10 years from now 20,000 people will claim to have been at this game

I was (See picture from previous page.)! Sat through the first half, joked with the usher about getting my money back and paid $14.50 for a Sprite and a pretzel. Totally worth it.

So I'm thinking...How do I turn my digital ticket stub into one of those NFT thingies and sell it for a gazillion dollars?  ;D ;D

To me, this was the key to the game.  Taking nothing away from Tatum, but the whole team needed to lock down on defense to make this comeback, and they did.
