Nesmith getting the limelight but Tremont needs to get some recognition too. Way to stay ready when a late Smart suspension made him have to play a size-able role yesterday.

25 mins, 6 pts, 6 assts, 2 stls

He played very well in the first quarter and hurt us for the rest of the game.  Getting Pritchard back in the game after his bloody nose in the fourth quarter was important because it got Waters off the court... he was making a lot of mistakes.  But for a fourth-string guard, he did about as well as we could reasonably expect.  He's not here to win us games.  He's here to fill in the gaps.

Just don't ever put him in a garbage time situation again unless that s*** is actually mathematically out of reach, lol.

He started out playing well and got progressively worse throughout the game.

He tries super hard, but he reminds me of Grant Williams in that he's just a few inches shorter than he really needs to be in order to be a reliable piece at his position.

Reminds me of Grant in the sense that he also doesn’t belong in the NBA. Least Waters is on a 2 way contract, though.

Grant is going to be in the NBA for quite a while. You might not like him as a player, but he definitely is an NBA role player that will probably cut out a nice 10 year or more career.

Based on what? His per 36: 8pts, 5reb, fg:42%, 3pt:36%, FT:55%. Average defender at best... player efficiency rating:6.93. He doesn’t do anything well.

He's a 22 year old kid finishing his second year and played important minutes for a conference finals team both in the regular season and playoffs.

He's also a role player. There's a ton of guys in this league that didn't play as much or as well as he has and was able to hang around a long time.

PJ Tucker was so bad his rookie year he had to play 5 years overseas before getting back in the league. He is probably the closest player comp in the league for Grant. He's been around since 2007.

And there's a whole bunch of others: Corey Joseph, Shelvin Mack, DeMarre Carroll, Kostas Koufos, Alexis Ajinca, Quincy Pondexter, and on and on. Guys that hung around 7,8,9,10 years by cutting out a role and filling it.

Hate Grant. Okay, I get it. But guys like him hang for years and years in this league. That's undeniable.

Anyway, this is off subject. If you want to respond, cool. But that's all for me.

He looked good as a traditional style PG, but he’s so dang small.

I don’t see an NBA future for him, and would prefer we use the two-way on a different player.

I only hate him at center. I actually think he is a good role player when used correctly.

3 TO's  0-3 from the Field.

I thought he was ok the first half but did not look as good as the second and had 3 TOs late in the game when it mattered most.  The main he did was push the pace and I think that helped us.   Still can we afford to have guys plays 25 min and do so little.   I say, hopefully not next year.   He is a two way so more power to him.

I almost want to bet Grant he follows the four and out path of Sully.  Sam Dekkar path  maybe at 6 years at best but Dekkar was fare more productive in his second year and Sully was way more productive but just ate himself out of the league.

What  role does he play and what is his specialty?  Rebounder, Nope?  Scorer, Nope?   Three and D,  Nope?   Rim protector, Nope?   Lock down, defender, Nope?    Hustle guy, Maybe some nights but debatable.   Guys who stick have that one skill.  Grant's best skill is eating minutes and not producing.

He's the 9th best-paid player of the Boston Celtics this year.

This is almost shameful.  If his present trajectory continues Ainge would be a fool to  pick up his 2023/24 qualifying offer.   You literally could not trade him for a bucket of brine he is so bad.

I hear Tatum and Brown, praise Rob, Praise Nesmith but ever hear them praise Grant?   If they did I missed it.

I don't care if he is in league for 20 years as long as it is not on this team.

I like Grant.  Really. I just feel like whenever I pay close attention to him during his time on the floor, I see one possession after another in which he does all of the right things and yet fails to make a play, whether it's a player scoring over him despite perfect defensive positioning, or it's Grant failing to create a good scoring opportunity despite having space to shoot or get inside.  It's really hard to get past the feeling that he'd be a starting caliber player if he were just a couple inches taller.

You may be right that Grant will have a long career in the NBA, but if he does I think it'll be as a third stringer who plays limited minutes or fills in when guys ahead of him or hurt.  He's a lot like Semi Ojeleye only his physical tools make him more appropriate at the 4 or as a small ball 5 than as a perimeter player.

Best case scenario I see for Grant is that he becomes a sort of Jae Crowder / PJ Tucker type player, but those guys bring a certain edge to their play that Grant doesn't.  Grant also has a long way to go as a shooter.
