#NEBHInjuryReport for tomorrow vs. Washington: Jaylen Brown (Left Scapholunate Ligament Surgery) - OUT Robert Williams (Left Foot, Turf Toe) - PROBABLE

I think we'll have to wait until the game to see whether Rob is actually able to effectively play and help out. Turf toe is a lingering thing, and easy to aggravate, so it wouldn't shock me to see Rob start but then play only 5 minutes (though I certainly hope the toe doesn't bother him).

Game-time decision on Timelord, but he practiced today and last Friday IIRC.

Brad Stevens says everybody practiced and Robert Williams will likely be a game-time decision tomorrow night. Everyone else looked good and "you could tell that our guys were locked in and ready to practice and ready to prepare for tomorrow's game."

It’d be really nice to have him around to help limit some of Westbrook’s penetration.  Even if he’s only ready for 15 minutes tomorrow.

Chris Grenham: Robert Williams did not practice today, per Brad Stevens. He is pretty sore and likely won’t practice tomorrow.

I hope he rests until game 3 in Boston.

They should just do everyone a favor and just rule him out for the series. He’s literally made of glass. Not point in hoping he’ll be back for game 3. He’ll literally get hurt again. Just can’t really in this guy.

This is obviously not true in a literal sense and not really in a metaphorical sense either.  Why have superlatives become so ingrained in common English speech?

It’s gotten so bad that the nonsensical use of the word has now become a secondary definition in the dictionary:

literally, adverb (informal): used for emphasis or to express strong feeling while not being literally true.

The use of a circular definition to explain this usage is (non-literally) the icing on the cake.

I really wish they shut down the TL aka glass man. We know his toe will flare up or he will hurt something else. Shut him down and trade him in the offseason.

no he is not. if he were, he would not be a living creature.

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

But for how long? 5 minutes? I commend him for giving it a go, but I can't see him making it through a whole game without aggravating that toe injury (or incurring another injury elsewhere).

I said last year to shut down Kemba, they did not and we had to deal with all year non back to backs because they waited. I said shut down JB early and now he will only be ready by camp instead of being ready to train on his own before it. For the love of Celtics and basketball plz let TL heal up for next year, do not stretch this out. Team dealt Theis for the future tax, show the same commitment to player health for the future and not just their wallets. This team is too ignorant when it comes to moves for the future or present and I'm getting sick of it. Either they shut him down or DA NEEDS TO GO.

I agree. The Celtics have only a tiny chance of beating the Nets in a series, virtually no chance of even getting close to a title this year, so why let guys play when they could just make their injuries worse (or incur new injuries)? Bench the injured, give the kids plenty of run to benefit them long term, and start looking to next season.

Oh, and invest in bubble wrap—lots of bubble wrap—to protect this glasslike team.

Chris Grenham: Brad Stevens gave @ZoandBertrand a positive update on Jayson Tatum’s eye injury: “The last I heard, which was last night, … was that he was doing better and that Friday looks probable at that time. … They felt pretty good about him being able to go.” 19 mins ago
