The N-word is a derogatory racial slur!
It will never be...
-a term of endearment
-reclaimed
-flipped
NEVER FORGET ITS FOUL AND TRUE HISTORY!
Throw that N-word out the window, right alongside all of those other racist words used to describe my people.

We are not slaves or N’s

Does he have a point?

The use of the n-word among Black Americans is not something that white people need to really concern themselves with and certainly not arbitrate.

It is unsurprising that folks of all backgrounds would come down on different sides of the fence when it comes to the use of the word. With that being said, I think if you're white all you need to really know is "don't ever say it, or think about saying it, or allow other white people in your presence to say it" and then move along accordingly.

Hopefully this isn't a lightning rod response. Just my two cents.

I have never understood why the word is used/adopted as a term of endearment. Whether it ends in an A or an ER.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Is Schroeder going to be fined $50,000?

Idk Kyrie has been seen on camera saying this word, a teammate like Durant uses this word quite frequently, and I highly doubt this is the first time a player on court has used this word on the court. Why does it matter now?

Lets be honest. This is probably Kyrie the narcissist trying to make excuses for why Schroder got in his head and won the mind game.

This country has become completely obsessed with race.  What a complete waste of time and resources.

Disagreement is as American as apple pie.  Lots of people, including me, think that there remains a great deal of fundamental inequity in our country based upon skin color.  If you thought this way you probably wouldn't see it as a waste of time to address.

Exactly.  We know Irving likes to try to control narratives this way too.  I don't think there is any way he's actually upset that Schroder used that word.  He just wants to put his own spin on things.  If he gets to portray himself as the victim, even better.

We are never going to get the word out of our society until all races cease to use it. To say white people shouldn’t concern themselves with this word is beyond ridiculous. To move away from using words like this it’s going to take all races working together.

It's never going to "get...out of our society" so you can dismiss that as a legitimate possibility. Countless people in good faith and for good reason don't want to remove it from their vernacular. So insisting the only way forward is a wholesale removal of the word is a problem you need to work through.

I'd like to add that Schroedder (spl?) being German, I wonder if that affects how Irving sees it. Also, in general, somebody from another country might view the word differently. Not sure if that would contribute or minimize the impact of the word.
Baby Jesus!

People are allowed to grow and change their perspective.  Kyrie is in my opinion right about this.  People who are White saying that Black people shouldn't use it either is silly, it really is a message that needs to come from within the black community, so I am happy that Kyrie is pushing that message to the forefront.

So are minority players who use wildly offensive language punishable when they offend someone - or is that only reserved for the privileged class?  If you have zero tolerance, then it should be zero.  Lets cancel everyone, starting with every rapper, the world would be better off for it.
