I count 4 dumb thread in "the latest discussion" and it won't go better I guess :)

Of course Ainge is criticisable and some may interrogate his future (but more because of his last 2 years decisions), but not the way you are doing it, which is absolute nonsense.

First, would you like to have lived the 5/7 years of loosing without competition, when we had this very good team leading East, with an MVP candidate, wouldn't it be a little less fub to make season with 10-20 wins ?

Second, you say they are ruling the east. We are in regular season. What is their palmares ? Cause I guess the "process" in Philly is more advanced than our (Embid 27 Simmons 25 Tatum 23 Brown 25) and what is their palmares ? Oh yeah on Semi final and first rounds exit. That is definition of "rulng a conference". At the same time we were doing 3 ECF and when we lost in semi, their peak, it was a disater for us... And the Nets what they did ? They just were able to sign free agent who wanted to come there. Nothing about long time plan, esp when 2 of this guys were pointed as trade target by Ainge, and one even signed but who didn't beleive in us (or in himself).

So nonsense postfrom the start to the end. Sorry.

Aren't you guys glad we fought so hard to make the playoffs while the 76ers were tanking. It was so crucial to get Olynyk,  Smart, Jae Crowder, Zeller, Thomas, that valuable playoff experience.

Meanwhile the 76ers and Netw are laughing at us now. Can you imagine if we did the smart thing and lost games and had two amazing picks every year.

Danny Ainge really doesn't have a plan. Hes too old. Been here too long. Its time for a Change Ainge.

Yeah, so.... the Celtics beat the 76ers in the postseason last year. Boston can’t build a team the same way Brooklyn or the LA teams can. Danny has done a very good job overall.

You think we are beating Philly or the Nets this year. No chance.

I think the Celtics could give Philly a run for their money if they play like they have the last few games. I don’t think anyone is beating the Nets from either conference.

Finally  some truth on here. Tp.

Playoff experience has always been overrated.  Talent wins.  It always has.  It makes no real difference if the talent is in its 1st year or its 20th year.  You just need talent.

Cool tell that to LeBron and Michael Jordan.

Boy, KGLL was out in all his trollish glory yesterday with these threads.

Let's bash Ainge for his team building because he has had success getting teams into the ECFs but not beyond, and also because Philly and the Nets are at the top of the conference in the standings, at the moment, but are teams that have shown almost no playoff success in decades.

If I could deduct 10 TP's I would.

Ask Milwaukee what dominating the regular season does.  If you want to berate a GM look at them.  Best player in the world and hasn't won a championship.  Philly has a top 5 player in the NBA and haven't won anything.  Brooklyn paid for a team with a 3 yr window and they still aren't the best team on paper.  I do not think Boston as currently constructed is as good as Philly, Milwaukee or Brooklyn but they are not far off either.  Anything can happen in a playoff series.

The only thing Ainge has done that we can really 2nd guess is the Kyrie trade.  No one knew what an enigma he is and how he would really set the C's up.  Horford left and most likely regrets it.  Hayward chose touches over a championship.  This is all out of Ainge's control.  I feel Danny is a decent drafter.  He's chosen character over talent and while the C's have a great environment they pass on more talented players because of this.  Overall, Ainge still does a great job and I'm happy he's our GM.

They didn't take awhile to win a championship because they needed experience, they took awhile to win a championship because they and their teammates weren't good enough.  Jordan didn't go from winning 1 playoff game in his first 3 years to winning a playoff series in year 4 because he had experience, it was because the Bulls added a rookie Scottie Pippen to his team.  And once Pippen reached full peak, the Bulls started winning championships.  Lebron has never lost in the 1st round of the playoffs and took the worst team to ever play in the Finals to the Finals in his 4th year.  You know, once Lebron was actually good enough to do so on his own.  That was only his 2nd year making the playoffs and he was in the finals.  Durant's first two years in the league the Sonics/Thunder won 20 and then 23 games.  They were in the NBA Finals in his 4th year, which was Westbrook's 3rd year, and Harden and Ibaka's 2nd year.  Talent wins and it always had.  Teams with talent win.  The talent needs to be in its prime (or near prime) and there needs to be enough of it, but this notion that you need experience just isn't borne in reality.  It is why the Celtics could come together without playing together and win a title in year one.  It is why the Heat's big 3 played together for 4 years and made the Finals 4 years (same with the Cavs).  You don't actually need experience, you don't actually need to play together, you just need talent.

Haven’t we’ve been in the conference finals in like 3 of the last 4 years?  I’m frustrated we haven’t made the jump to the finals either but geez, you’re way out on a limb.
