I guess I'm the only one not impressed by Wood. Looks like classic good player on Bad team type guy. No D and can't shoot free throws. I admit I have see him that much so maybe that's it...

Rob really outplayed him tonight.

Yeah, TIMELORD looked like the much better player.

Wood would be a solid backup for Rob.

I think I figured out what Rob Williams' problem has been.

Basketball is too easy for him.
What do you think CBS instructions to him have been? Defend, rebound, dunk a little. Boring.
Treating Rob like the HOF GOAT basketball genius he is, Stevens should have told him:
"Go out there, put the team on your back, spark a blowout, give confidence back to your new teammate EF by throwing him Larry Bird level passes. Shoot %100 while doing this. Oh, and you can flirt with a triple double but don't make our all-stars jealous by actually getting one."
CBS should have done this earlier in the season. Fire Brad, lol.

When the book is written about the Ainge years, I predict that we are going to learn that his plan was to pressure Brad to keep Robert Williams as a backup until he signed his extension, and then (and only then) make him the starter.  The purpose of this plan was simply to save some money.

This plan is similar to what Theo did when he put Kris Bryant in the minors for the month of April several years ago in order to defer when he would be eligible for free agency by one year.

So, the good news ... the challenges of this year forced him to give up on that plan ... and it gives us a chance to win a couple of rounds in the playoffs.

Playoff rotation:

Kemba
Smart
Jaylen B
Jason T
Robert W

Off the bench: PP, TT, EF

Not championship driven, but they'll give us some exciting playoffs wins

He is a legit freak. He can make plays that disrupt the normal rhythms of the NBA game. At critical junctures those plays will win you games. The stuff he can do goes beyond fundamentals or good decision-making. His athleticism, length, and reflexes are Bill Russell-level.

Once he truly realizes how good he can be he will be unstoppable.

Celts will "owe him money" also

I think he is creeping close to 12-15m per season

Need to lock him up as soon as its possible

Please have him visit Hakeem Olajuwon for post move. TL with a Dream shake or a McHale  up and under move will be nasty on opponents. Cs have a homegrown Big 3.

12-15 million? lol ..Biyambo got almost 20 million...Rozier makes 20 million. He should fire any agent that does not hang up on Ainge with an offer like that.

With the current dearth of Centers in the NBA, if Time Lord keeps it up he's going to command $20-28 million easy.

One thing about Robert...

Has Stevens built the offense and defense that will exploit Robert's talents?

His presence, just in the last 12 months...alters the opponent's response.

My guess is the "threat" of Robert underneath on offense should help the perimeter guys somewhat.

On defense I have seen Robert make enough opponents large and small look stupid on drives to assume an opponent's strategy has to change.

I mean guys, honestly, this kid is looking dominant with opposing NBA players. He can not only fly, but the timing on his hops
is r-i-g-h-t.

Think about this pretty shaky season...

Add Robert - top NBA center

Add Fournier - top off the bench winger

Add Kornet - good off the bench 7 footer

Add Pritchard - good off the bench point guard with a three point shot

These benchers need time playing together. Robert is so famous now he doesn't get as many minutes with Pritchard.

If they can pass like they did last night they will win some games up in here.

Will Robert take 50/4? Or 60/4?

Or do we need to go up in the range of 70/4 or even 80/4?

I think he's worthy of 80/4, but with his injury history he may bite for less.
Anyway he's going to make a name for himself fast.
Especially if the Celtics make a deep playoff run.
And although I don't see the Celtics as a contender I can definitely see them go far.

On paper, you have 3 young star level players: Tatum (36), Brown (36), Timelord (32).
You have 3 starter level players: Walker (32), Smart (32), Fournier (32).
And 3 bench level players: Thompson (16), Pritchard (16), Ojeleye ( 8 ).

That's a strong rotation. As long as we can avoid to have to play the G-League'ers (Edwards, Nesmith, G.Williams, Wagner and to a lesser extent Langford or Kornet) the Celtics should be a dangerous opponent for anyone besides the Nets.

I want to draw attention to the fact that three of Fournier's threes came on passes from Rob.  Williams does so many things that we badly need somebody to do for us.  Very talented kid.

...and even more noticeable is the lack of JT assists; especially when having a teammate who can’t miss a shot.

You would think JT could have collected at least a couple of assists by just passing the ball to EF.  I am starting to think Timelord’s BBIQ  is quite higher than JT’s or JB’s

Robert Williams is a passing savant. You need a high basketball IQ to be an elite passer. He has a much better understanding of the game than any other player on the team.

I guess what we need now is not only better players but also an assistant coach who can install good sound defense.

Really miss Tom Thibodeau.
