Gotta say I’m not sure how Cousins moves the needle for any NBA team on the court. He’s washed IMO. These buyout names - well, mainly Boogie, Blake, and LMA - get hype because of their careers. But they won’t help either team all that much. Drummond is easily the best signing of the bunch.

Cousins got cut by one of the worst teams in the NBA and that was while Woods was out with injury and they had no other bigs on the team. They were playing Tucker at, C lol.
This is a total misrepresentation of what happened. They cut him so he could find a contender, given they traded away all the good players he signed on to play with

I think Cousins is washed, but I would certainly like to be wrong about that.

Why a 10 day contract instead rest of the season?
Because the guy is cooked and teams are just kicking the tires at this point to see if he has anything left to offer.

He might be cooked as an All-NBA center.  He’s not washed up in the sense that he doesn’t belong on an NBA roster.

So why didn’t he just sign on with a contender from the very beginning? He was only getting a Vet Min contract anyway. Why are the clippers only  “considering” signing him to a 10 day contract? He’s toast... Jeff Teague was just picked up by the Bucks and he didn’t sign a 10 day trial contract.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

He signed on when they had Harden, Westbrook and Wood. Reasonable expectation that Houston would be contending. He was great over the month of February when he got some in-game shape. Not sure what you expect

Not sure I’m buying that. He was cut over a month ago and is just now being considered for a 10 day trial contract by the Clippers, whereas other players that received buyouts are signing on with new teams(not 10 day contracts) days after their release.

For the record, hope that you are right and that he does have something left. Would love to see the Clippers or Denver come out of the West.

I think the teams or tight with roster spots right now, and were waiting until the trade deadline to sign players.

Keep in mind, we don’t know who requested the 10 day contract.  Maybe Boogie wants to keep some flexibility.  Or, maybe the clippers are hoping that another player gets bought out that they like better. We just don’t know.

They also guaranteed his contract right before releasing him, as a sign of goodwill. He did everything they asked of him, coming off the bench, few minutes, filling in for Wood when he went down.

They released him so he can go to a better team and/or get more PT.
