If Horford retires in a couple of years, I wouldn’t mind if the C’s brought him on as an asst coach, ala Evan Turner. Our main guys (Tatum, Brown, Smart) seem to hold him in high regard

They'd be better off holding him to potentially take on long-term bad money (with picks) after next season than buying him out

Yeah, I'm not sure if I posted this in another thread, or if my reply just didn't submit, but even if Horford gave back $6 million to secure a buyout, it would leave OKC on the hook for $9 million in dead money for the next six seasons after this one.
