OKC doesn’t want him to risk injury, otherwise they won’t be able to move him in the off-season. He played pretty well this year, makes sense to shelve him.
Quoting Nick from the now locked Ime thread:

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

It's still going to be pretty tough to trade him at his age with his contract. There's no way they get value in return for him, they will have to give something along with him to incentivize a team to take his contract.

NBA have to do something bout teams doing this..they fine teams and players for not playing for couple of games by resting but if a team don’t let players play for rest of season, nothing

Kemba for Al, please. Throw in a pick if we need to. We might as well overpay Al for one year instead of overpaying Kemba for two years.

As long as they get picks (2nds).... OKC will be jumping for Joy

OKC already has 34 picks (17 1sts & 17 2nds) over the next 7 years. How many more picks can they use? Sounds like Danny - let's SAVE THE ASSETS until they are no longer valuable.

Got a feeling they’ll be consolidating a number of them to ensure they get Mobley or Cunningham to pair with SGA.

You realise they’re both contracted until 2022/23? And Kemba is significantly better than Al

I'm sure Presti will try.  question is whether he'll get squeezed like Danny did when trying to trade multiple picks to move up in a draft
