I definitely think Otto Porter the best choice of names being thrown out, but beating the Lakers to Drummond would be nice.

I'm not sure if Drummond is a good fit on Celtics or Lakers but I guess it's just like a race to get all the players you can for the playoffs.

I'd rather add shooting than anything else. Sam Merrill would've looked good off our bench.

According to Murphy the team believes Drummond is signing with the Lakers.

Works for me, go grab Dieng he’s a better fit anyway.

I won’t be surprised the LA Media was treating it like a done deal yesterday.

I wouldn't be surprised if the guy we really want is Dieng and this reported interest in Drummond was to push the Lakers away from Dieng.

Dieng's ability to defend and space the floor fits much better with our system and our needs.

Honestly even Cousins is a better fit. Not only could he also space the floor but at least this point in his career he could accept a backup role to Timelord.

Can’t believe some ppl don’t want Drummond here..dude is a double/double machine and a big body..we don’t have that
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

Drummond is the definition of empty stats. I wouldn’t hate him here but I’m not crying about him not coming.

Timelord is a far better player, we don’t need Drummond starting. Dieng off the bench would contribute more to wins.

It feels like this Drummond to Boston talk is just a tease but I feel he is a much better player than either Thompson or RWilliams so playing time or not for them is the least of my worries.  It would be unfortunate that we would end up with 3 centers and no real PF but we are still better with Drummond than without.

Why so quiet on Demarcus Cousins?  Now that the trade deadline is over, it seems like he will end up somewhere.
Did you watch Cousins play with Houston? He can't move anymore.

So is this supposed pursuit of Drummond a message to Thompson?  Or are they going to pull an OKC with Horford and send TT home if Drummond miraculously decides to come here?

Drummond isn’t a fraction of the player that Rob is. Rob impacts the game in a far more positive manner, and I’d be saying that even if he signed here.

I mean Drummond is better than TT so I understand it from the mindset that’s it’s an upgrade there.

He isn’t better than Rob though, and in Drummond’s mind he’s the best center in the league (or up there) which is laughable. I doubt he would have accepted a smaller role here.

As long as TT accepts his role as the backup to Rob, grab Dieng for spacing/split mins with TT or Cousins for insurance, I think we’re better off than with Drummond.
